Hi B.K. Borison and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Lovelight Farms!

 

Please summarize the book for the readers here:

LOVELIGHT FARMS is a story about a down-on-her-luck tree farm owner who enters a social media contest to rescue her tree farm. The only problem? On her application she said she had a boyfriend, and there’s no boyfriend. Luckily her best friend Luka volunteers to play the part, only things aren’t as pretend as they thought. It’s a friends-to-lovers romance set in a small town.

Please share a few Fun facts about this book…

I started writing this book after my daughter accidentally got Christmas Tree Farm by Taylor Swift stuck on our home speaker. It was initially independently published, but was picked up by Berkley. The original cover was made by me in a panic in the middle of the night, but has thankfully been updated and replaced.

 

What first attracts your Hero to the Heroine and vice versa?

Luka, our hero, has been in love with Stella for a longtime but has always valued their friendship over taking that next step. Her loved her enthusiasm, her open heart, her determination, and her smile.

 

Did any scene have you blushing, crying or laughing while writing it? And Why?

I always laugh when I’m writing scenes that include the townspeople. It’s fun for me to imagine a bunch of nosey neighbors in one another’s business. I think my hope with the town was to paint a picture of what we all hope for in community. People that care deeply about one another and look out for their own.

 

Readers should read this book….

If you ever loved Gilmore Girls, I think you’ll love Lovelight Farms. It’s a story about all the different sorts of love and trusting yourself enough to give love a chance. I hope everyone that reads it feels like they have a happy, safe place to disappear to in between the pages.

 

What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have in the works?

I am currently working on the first book of a new series, that is super top secret. I couldn’t be more excited about it.

    Starting when we married, I have left little notes for my husband. Sometimes in a drawer, sometimes in a pocket, in his notebook or manuals, in his suitcase when he had to go out of town, written in soap on a mirror, or anyplace else I could think of. It is nothing big, but it is just to show him I am thinking of him.
