Spotlight&Giveaway

Hi K. Bromberg and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Resist!

Your newest series starts with this week’s release Resist. What was your inspiration for the series?

Inspiration is such a funny thing. I can rarely place where an idea started, but rather can remember the furious days afterwards as I take frantic notes as the story unfolds. I love taking a hero and heroine who most readers question at first and then slowly have them fall for them. That’s the case with Ryker and Vaughn in Resist. Readers might question things about them, but I love that they give me a chance to tell their story over the next 100,000 words until they are rooting for them.

Tell us about your hero — what are his strengths and weaknesses? What about your heroine?

Ryker Lockhart is my hero. He’s a high power divorce attorney who doesn’t exactly believe in love considering he sees the downside of it daily. His childhood doesn’t help with that much either. His strengths are that even though he’s the alpha jerk at times who thinks he can always get what he wants, he also has a soft spot you see every now and again that makes you swoon. His weakness is that he doesn’t believe in love . . . so when it happens, he’s blindsided by it.

Vaughn Sanders is probably one of the most complicated heroines I’ve written to date. She lives a double life and works in an interesting profession but it’s all for the benefit of one particular end game in mind. Her strengths are that she’s stubborn and defiant and determined. I also think those same things are her weaknesses too.

When you were writing the book, were there actors/models that you envisioned as the main characters?

No. I rarely picture famous people as my characters . . . and if I do, I rarely voice them because I think readers prefer to decide what characters look like themselves.

What was the most fun scene to write for Resist? What was the most difficult?

I think the most fun scene to write was when Ryker meets Lucy for the first time. The most difficult… so much of this book was hard for me to write but, I’m going to say the last chapter for sure.

What other releases do you have planned for 2019?

Reveal, the sequel to Resist, releases September 24th and then I’m working on one more to be released near the end of the year.

Thanks for blogging at HJ!

Book Info:

Who says you have to play by the rules to get what you want?

Agreeing to meet Ryker Lockhart is my first mistake. Rich, handsome, and more than intriguing, he thinks blackmail will bend me to his will.

But he’s wrong.

I may have done a few things that weren’t exactly legal, but I have my own reasons for that. The last thing I’m going to do is let some high-powered divorce attorney come into my life, have my body, and rule my heart. Not to mention ruin everything that I have carefully built in just a short amount of time.

But as much as I try to resist him, and against my better judgment, there is something about him that has me agreeing to his proposal.

I’m putting everything on the line for him. I just hope I won’t lose everything when this is all over.

I love K. Bromberg’s books and this new one sounds like another of her great reads! She always manages to give a reader a great hero/heroine to root for. Her characters are so human, you can’t help but fall in love with them. I’m looking forward to reading Resist and Reveal too!
