Today it is my pleasure to Welcome author Nina Crespo to HJ!
Hi Nina Crespo and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Rules of a Rebound, Breakup Bash Series!
Hello Everyone! It’s great to be here.
Please summarize the book for the readers here:
RULES OF A REBOUND (release date August 12th) is the second, standalone title in the Breakup Bash series. Natalie Winters is ready to move past the ending of her failed marriage. She attends a party with her friends, looking for a night of fun. Rome Collier, the sexy bartender at the party, catches her eye. Her attempt to land him without a wingwoman doesn’t quite go as planned, but it leads to a flirtation that turns into so much more.
Please share your favorite line(s) or quote from this book:
Natalie put her purse on the counter. Staying until he came back to her was purely about principle. No way in hell was she leaving her party favors behind so he could use them on some other woman later on. He had her “Do Me” condoms, and she wanted them back.
Please share a few Fun facts about this book…
A Naughty Nine drink menu is mentioned in the book. Researching cocktails with provocative names was such a hardship. (Not!!)
What first attracts your Hero to the Heroine and vice versa?
Rome is attracted to Natalie’s confidence. She matches him line for flirty line when they first meet. Natalie is attracted to Rome’s confidence, too. He also isn’t afraid of her success. And she has a thing for guys with a shadow of well-groomed stubble on their jawline. She finds that extremely sexy.
Did any scene have you blushing, crying or laughing while writing it? And Why?
This story is about girlfriends, too. Writing Alexa’s wine aisle, ugly cry scene from Natalie’s perspective was fun. Every woman should have a Natalie in her life to help her through the rough times.
Alexa turned left down aisle nine, and Natalie followed her into the wine section.
“Alexa.”
Alexa, still absorbed in the wine selections, didn’t look back.
But she probably had a lot on her mind with the move. That was why she wasn’t hearing her. Finally, Alexa glanced her direction, and Natalie hurried over to her. “Hey, you. Why didn’t you answer me? I called out to you three times.”
“I heard someone calling me, but I didn’t think it was you.”
“Who else would it be?” As she kissed Alexa on the cheek, a box grazed Natalie’s thigh, and she glanced down. Boxed wine? What the hell. Alexa was such a wine snob. She only drank wine out of a bottle. A forthcoming teasing comment hovered on Natalie’s lips, but Alexa’s glazed, unhappy expression wiped out everything but concern. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing much, just…” Alexa slid her purse strap that had fallen down her arm back on her shoulder and looked away.
Had something happened with her mom…or was there an issue with Brad?
Just when Natalie was about to question her further, Alexa’s chin wobbled, and tears welled in her eyes. She took in several breaths and blinked rapidly, as if trying to compose herself.
But when she looked back at Natalie, she was far from composed. A full-on, screaming ugly cry was coming, and this wasn’t the place for that to happen.“Oh shit.” Natalie snatched the boxed wine from Alexa and slung it back on the shelf. She had to get Alexa out of there. Fast.
Readers should read this book….
If they want a fun, sexy escape.

Excerpt from Rules of a Rebound, Breakup Bash Series:
Rome rested his hands on the bar and leaned in. Her perfume, feminine and sensual, lured him closer. “Are you sure you’re only in the mood for one?”
Rome reached for a cocktail shaker and paused. Pouring liqueurs over ice and shaking it up was the half-ass way of doing it. She’d asked for a really good orgasm, and he’d give her one.
Rome retrieved a tall shooter glass and set it on the counter. He took a bottle of coffee liqueur from the shelf behind him and partially filled the glass. Like her, it had an element of sweetness but also an irresistible bite. Next, he layered in some amaretto, the perfect setup for what all orgasms had—a satisfying finish. Next, he held a spoon against the inside of the glass as he poured in the Irish Cream. It sank, infusing the drink with slow curls of chaos, but, like magic, the lighter liqueur rose to the top, forming three distinct layers of golden amaretto, rich cream, and dark liqueur.
Her gasp of delight caused pride to swell in his chest. He slowly slid the shooter across to her. “One Screaming Orgasm.”
“This looks delicious.” Smiling, she picked up the glass.
Rome couldn’t tear his gaze away from her lips or the curve of her throat as she drank the orgasm down. When she finished, her low moan of contentment sank into him.
She set the glass on the counter. “It’s even better than I remember. Whoever came up with the idea of serving these tonight is a genius.”
“That would be the organizers of the party.”
She arched a brow. “And you are?”
Hard as wood. Envious of the drop of cream on her lower lip. When she licked the drop away, he barely suppressed a groan. “Rome.”
“Nice to meet you, Rome. I’m Natalie. Will you be around for seconds?”
The outline of her beaded nipples pressing from underneath her shirt kicked his heartrate up a notch. “Or thirds.”
“Promise?”
“Absolutely. In my world, a beautiful woman like you always comes first.”
“Ladies,” the DJ called out over the microphone, “it’s almost time. Are you ready for the Hot Body Hunks?”
Shouts erupted in the room, and Natalie looked over her shoulder.
In an instant, their connection was broken, stolen from him by the guys about to come onstage. Disappointment mixed with irritation pinged in Rome’s gut. Yeah, she’d matched him line for line, but she was there for the fantasy of the Hunks, not him. Like he’d told himself the entire night, steering clear of the women attending the Breakup Bash was the smart thing for him to do.
Just as he went to clear away the shooter glass, she turned back around and smiled. “Your world sounds interesting.”
Something that went beyond sexy drink innuendos shone in her eyes, but how far was she willing to go with him? How far was he willing to go with her? “
