Today it is my pleasure to Welcome author Lauren Crowne to HJ!
Hi Lauren and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Sold to the Demon Prince!
Thank you for having me! I’m excited to talk about hot demons and spicy romance.
Please summarize the book for the readers here:
Vera is a fae slave who happens to be bought by the hottest and richest demon in the world – the Demon Prince. Fae share their magic through touches and kisses, and Prince Leo plans on taking full advantage of his new purchase. Can the demon who owns Vera’s body one day own her heart as well?
Please share your favorite line(s) or quote from this book:
“Which flowers are your favorites?” the prince asked.
That answer was easy. “Daffodils.”
“Interesting choice. Why is that?”
“First, they’re cute.”
He snorted, as if that was a terrible reason.
“Second,” I continued anyway, “it seems like no matter what you do to them, they come back every year, whether you want them to or not. I like that about them.”
“They’re persistent.”
“Resilient,” I corrected, feeling a little braver. “They look delicate, and they are, but you always know that they’ll be back. These roses, though, they’re pretty to look at, but otherwise they can be a big pain in the ass.”
“Pretty things usually are.”
Please share a few Fun facts about this book…
The Demon Prince knows how to use his tail, if you know what I mean 🙂
What first attracts your Hero to the Heroine and vice versa?
When they first meet, Prince Leo has no idea that Vera is the fae he’s going to purchase. And Vera has no idea that the demon who buys her is actually the prince! Leo admires Vera’s bravery (and her touch), and Vera loves Leo’s willingness to take a stand (and his abs).
Did any scene have you blushing, crying or laughing while writing it? And Why?
Anytime the Demon Prince has Vera in his lap, his tail tightly wrapped around her leg, his wings caging her in. . . yes, please!
Readers should read this book….
Readers should read this book if they enjoy fantasy romance, spicy scenes, and dangerously hot demons.
What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have in the works?
Sold to the Demon Prince is part of a trilogy, with the second book coming out Dec 2022 and the final book in Spring 2023.

Excerpt from Sold to the Demon Prince:
A firm yank of my chain made me fall forward, my knees slamming against the concrete floor with a thud.
“Be quiet, trash.” Satisfied that I was on my knees, my handler loomed over me, and I wished with everything at that moment that I could have wrapped that stupid chain around his neck instead.
“Trash, huh?” Rand smirked and pushed himself off the wall to approach me where I kneeled. “If she is trash, then her price must be pretty cheap, right? Especially with such dismally weak power levels.”
“Oh. Well. No, sir,” my handler stammered, his attention back on the patrons. “She has other values.”
“Damn right I do. Ugh!” I groaned as the chain jerked me down again, and my face would have smacked against the floor if Rand hadn’t put out his boot to stop my face. Still, I’d rather hit my face on a leather boot than concrete. He gently pushed his foot back, and I was able to sit back on my heels. Rand crouched in front of me, silver eyes examining me closely for the first time. I remained as still as I could, unwilling to let him see any fear on my part.
Suddenly he smirked, and then one of Rand’s fingers bopped me on the nose. My handler instantly came forward and slammed a gloved palm down on top of my head, yanking me back by my hair.
“Sir,” the handler said, “I apologize but you cannot touch – “
“Oh, but you can?”
The handler started to stutter a reply, but Rand laughed and stood up, waving his hands as if to clear the air.
“All right then,” Rand said to the handler. “My apologies. Let’s hear these other values you mentioned.”
“Well.” The handler cleared his throat. “Her hair is long.”
Rand rolled his eyes. Honestly, so did I. “Seriously?” he asked. “That’s what you’re leading with?”
“It could be sold to make wigs.”
“Come on, man, you have to give me something better than that. She is still a virgin, right?”
A growl from behind me interrupted him, and at the sound both Rand and Marcus immediately stopped what they were doing. When had someone else joined them? I hadn’t been paying attention to the door, and normally patrons were only accompanied by one assistant. Was Rand also working with a wolf? I would have tried to turn around and look, but the human kept my head facing forward.
“Sorry,” Rand apologized to someone, certainly not to me, not sounding at all sorry.
“Sir, as you know, just as we do not allow anyone to touch our fairies, we definitely do not allow the fairies to engage in sexual contact of any kind prior to purchase. That would be strictly against the rules.”
“Of course, excuse my bad manners.” From behind his shaggy black hair, Rand peered down at my kneeling form in front of him. I forced myself to stare back, but there was something unnerving in the way his silver eyes sparkled, like he knew some inside joke I didn’t.
“No sex, huh? That’s too bad.” Rand grinned down at me.
Even as I forced myself to maintain eye contact, I felt my cheeks heating up.
“She certainly blushes like a virgin,” Rand smirked. “It’s cute how embarrassed she is.”
“I’m not embarrassed, I’m angry, you –” a push on the back of my head by the handler sent my face to the floor, this time there was no shoe to stop my cheek from slapping onto the cold floor. “Gods, can you stop doing that?”
“Gag her,” a deep voice said behind me. This voice was new, and it sounded vaguely familiar, and I stiffened at the idea that someone who had been at last night’s party might recognize me here.
“With pleasure.” The handler came closer and roughly pulled me up from the floor. He took a strap of leather from his pocket, and when I opened my mouth to protest he shoved it in, pulling it behind my head to secure the gag.
I could feel my blood starting to boil, but no matter how many curse words I threw at him, they all came out as mumbled nonsense.
“We should get this one, Leo,” Rand said. “I knew right when I saw her that this is just the kind of thing we’re looking for.”

Book Info:
The demon prince is arrogant, dangerous, and hot as sin.
He is also my new owner.
As a fae slave, I knew that one day I’d be sold at auction, but I never expected to be purchased by royalty, much less by the demon prince himself.
Rumors say that Prince Leo is a cruel master who murders his fae when they no longer entertain him. They say he’s just like every other species that harvest the magic in our fae blood.
But I know the truth.
There’s more to the demon prince than what the world sees. He has plans, big plans, and if I agree to help him, it could mean freedom for me and every other enslaved fae.
When the day comes that I’m given the chance for freedom, will I take it, even it means leaving Prince Leo forever? Or can I admit that the demon prince who owned my body might own my heart as well?
All books in the Sins of the Blood War series contain spicy tension, deliciously steamy scenes, characters who talk (and curse) like adults, and occasional moments of violence. Leo’s a prince who can do whatever he wants, after all, and in this book, what he wants is her.
