Today it is my pleasure to Welcome author Pippa Roscoe to HJ!
Hi Pippa and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, The Greek Secret She Carries!
Hello everyone, so lovely to be here!
Please summarize the book for the readers here:
Conluding the Diamond Inheritance series, Summer and Theron’s story is about finding family, understanding, love and that very powerful place ‘home’.
Please share your favorite line(s) or quote from this book:
She shook her head in disgust. ‘Kyros might have taught you about family, but my mother taught me about love. And love isn’t a debt you can repay.’ Her heart ached, her soul felt heavy and her tongue thick with grief. ‘Don’t ask me again to marry you,’ she ordered, before storming off down the beach.
*
‘You shouldn’t be trying to move that,’ he declared.
‘I moved it. I wasn’t trying.’
Theron suppressed a growl. ‘You don’t have to do it all yourself, you know.’
‘You don’t get to do that,’ she said, dropping her hold on the enormous plastic bag of compost and rounding on him. ‘You don’t get to come here, out of nowhere, and suddenly be everything.’
‘Be everything?’ he asked, the anger in Summer’s tone igniting his own.
‘I meant be everywhere,’ she lied badly.*
‘What are you doing in London anyway?’ Theron asked Lykos.
‘I like it here.’
‘I don’t believe you. I don’t believe that any Greek worth their salt would enjoy all the…grey,’ Theron said with such distaste it was as if the colour had taken up residence on his tongue.
‘Grey? I’m not quite sure I’ve seen London during the daytime hours. Is it that bad?’ Lykos asked, appearing to sincerely ponder it.
‘Yes. But Norfolk is worse.’
Lykos’s silver eyes narrowed and Theron’s dark gaze held the challenge. ‘Is that so?’ Lykos asked.
‘It is. They’ve even named a paint after it.’
‘What, Norfolk?’
‘Yes. It’s grey.’* I live in Norfolk – any ribbing is an affectionate form of abuse.
Please share a few Fun facts about this book…
This book concludes the search for missing family jewels that were hidden over one hundred and fifty years ago. In all good treasure hunting fashion, there MAY be:
- A crumbling English estate
- Hidden passageways
- Cobwebs
- Maps
- Special Keys
- Coded messages
- Beautiful sparkly jewels!
Did any scene have you blushing, crying or laughing while writing it? And Why?
‘You’re not that much older than me, you know,’ she called after him. ‘And…and…’ He paused, as if wanting to hear what she was going to say. ‘And you were a virgin once too!’ she yelled, shocked by her own audacity.
He spun round and ducked slightly, as if to avoid the words, and closed the distance between them in seconds. ‘Éleos, will you keep your voice down?’ he growled, casting wary glares left and right. He looked like an angry schoolboy, a dark curl having fallen onto his forehead and a ruddy streak on either cheek. It was comical, the laugh rising up in her chest cutting through the darker emotions from just moments before.
‘Are you blushing? Was it the word virgin?’ she demanded, incredulous.
‘Oh, for the love of—’
He kissed her then, the way she’d thought he might but could never have expected.
This scene always makes me giggle a little. I love the idea of the powerful, ‘experienced’ hero, trying to warn off the innocent heroine, who blushes as the word virgin.
Readers should read this book….
If you’ve enjoyed the first two books in the series, or like a bit of treasure hunting with your romance! There’s pregnancy, there’s a brooding Greek Billionaire, there’s a fiery but totally overwhelmed English heroine with a rambling estate on her hands and mere weeks to find the family heirlooms that have been hidden for over one hundred and fifty years… but there’s also humour and healing, sisterhood and friendships, and beneath it all a message of love for us all.
What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have in the works?
I’m currently working on a Scandinavian set Royal trilogy, the first of which sees Princess Freya stranded in a snowbound cabin in Sweden with the bodyguard who once broke her heart. Passionate, powerful and intense, Snowbound with his Forbidden Princess is out in March 2022.

Excerpt from The Greek Secret She Carries:
Theron put the rental car into park, telling himself that his pulse was pounding because of the near miss with a scaffolding lorry, not because Summer Soames was hiding somewhere inside the English estate in front of him. What was her angle here? Was she now targeting Lykos? He could have her.
No!
Everything in him roared denial at the bitterly careless thought. He could lie and claim not to have dreamed about Summer every night since she’d left his bed. He could try to tell himself that he’d put her out of his mind as the money-grabbing con artist he’d accused her of being, instead of remembering the devastation in her eyes that morning. But he wouldn’t lie to himself about how much he’d wanted her with every single fibre of his being since that morning.
So, no. Lykos couldn’t have her. Because Theron wasn’t done with her yet. He needed to know what she was doing before he could let her go.
His shoes crunched on the gravel as he got out of the car. He had to crane his neck to take in the sprawling building, little more than a dark outline against the dusk. In the evening’s gloom it was clear the estate was in need of some serious repair, but it was still a thing of beauty, faded or otherwise. There was a sense of something more, though, tugging at him, drawing him closer…but he shook the silliness out of his head as he took the steps two at a time, reaching the semi-circular dais at the top in front of a very large wooden door.
He pounded on it, wondering whether he had a hope in hell of her hearing it. As the minutes ticked by, Theron became increasingly frustrated. He stepped back off the steps and peered up at windows caked in grime and cobwebs. He frowned. The building looked deserted. Abandoned. Anything could happen here and no one would know. An icy tendril wound its way up his spine and he was worried. Worried about Summer. The suddenly frantic beat of his heart infected his thoughts and his mind quickly became a jumble so that when the door opened and he saw Summer standing there it took him a moment to breathe.
And he forgot.
He forgot the anger that had so cleverly laid over the hurt. The ache that she’d fooled him. That she’d used him. And instead he just took her in. A wave of relief washed over him, and a feeling he barely recognised and dared not name was left on the shore of his heart. Summer’s eyes widened in recognition, and for just a second he thought he might have seen something like hope spark in her eyes.
As if tethered to her he approached her with one step. And then another. And another until somehow he was within an inch of her and his hands were reaching to frame her face and his mouth was claiming hers and he felt as if he was home.
A moan sounded on the air between them and he couldn’t be sure if it had been hers or his. Her lips tasted of honey and opened beneath his and a shocking heat unfurled within him, his heart in his mouth and realisation on his tongue. He’d been lying to himself for months. He’d not put her out of his mind, he’d kept her there, the memories of her locked away, and the moment that he’d seen her again they were all unleashed. This was what he’d needed, just so he could breathe, he thought as he pulled her flush against his body and…stopped.
He opened his eyes to find her staring at him, shock and something horrifyingly like fear sparking to life in them. He pulled back and reached out at the same time, his hand unerringly finding the curve, not of her stomach but a bump. A baby bump.
