Spotlight&Giveaway

Hi Mary and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Wicked Highland Ways!

Hello Everyone!

Here it is, my last Highland Brides book. Everything ends and writing this book took a lot of focus but it was a labor of love. Those who have enjoyed this saga will know that Brenda Grant has been due a book and I hope I did it justice.

The opening lines of the book really set the tone-

It wouldn’t be the first marriage contracted for the gain it would bring to the groom’s family.
Brenda contemplated the road in front of her and felt almost nothing.
That was by far the saddest part of what would be her second marriage.

Not that Brenda is over reacting here. No, throughout this set of books, Brenda has managed to get the short end of the stick more than once. I honestly couldn’t stand the idea of not giving her a happy ever after.

Advice I might have given my main Character before the book began?
Well, if I was talking to Brenda, I’d tell her to not count her chickens before they’re hatched. Sure, it looks like she’s set to wed an English lord. One who doesn’t know she’s coming but who will only be interested in the dowry she brings. Yes, it might appear the man who has become interested in her has no power to free her but…well…don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched!

And since were on book six, the final book of the Highland Brides…I think I’m going to answer the question…What do I want Readers to take away?

How about a wonderful sense of happiness can be real?

I write romance for a variety of reasons. But the most important one is that I love that happy ever after. My memories are filled with that dream from as far back as I can remember. I still love to put on a silk dress and dance to a romantic melody with the prince who is the center of my universe. Love? Yes. Soul Mate, absolutely! So I hope those who have enjoyed these books get that warm fuzzy feeling from them. I wanted to write the chase…those moments in the relationship before things work out and reality is still jerking the chain of our couple. It’s my hope you giggled a little and snarled once or twice when I twisted the plot.

Thank you so much for reading!

Mary Wine.
