The Vintage Summer Wedding by Jenny Oliver:Anna Whitehall has totally lost it, everything. Yes she still has her fiancé and she still has her Vera Wang wedding gown, but all of her money, her self confidence, her job: all GONE! How did it happened? How did she get back to this point, the bottom, nothing, nada. So her she is moving back with her fiancé to TVSWtheir hometown, to a job her father got her, to a place she swore she would never go back to.

As time goes on she realizes that things aren’t exactly as they seemed before and once she can stop focusing on what might have been perhaps things are as they really should be.

Ms. Oliver has written a coming of age book. If you are looking for traditional romance, you won’t really find it here; which was kind of disappointing. However if you are looking for a great story of a woman coming to figure out her life, what’s important and finding true love of both herself and her other half this is where you need to look.

Anna goes through everything under the sun and to be honest with you I didn’t know whether to strangle her or just laugh through most of this book. Ms. Oliver has made Anna come to life. For anyone who hasn’t a clue Anna is proof that even when you don’t realize it you will come to figure out it’s not about what’s in your head, but what is right in front of you.

A Vera Wang dress, the reception at a sophisticated London venue, and a guest list that reads like a society gossip column are all the ingredients of Anna Whitehall’s perfect wedding that never was…
Spending the summer uncovering hidden treasures in a vintage shop, Anna can still vividly remember both her childhood dreams; the first was that she’d become a Prima Ballerina, and dance on stage resplendent in a jewel-encrusted tutu. The second was that at her wedding she would walk down the aisle wearing a collective-gasp-from-the-congregation dress.

Years ago Anna pirouetted out of her cosy hometown village in a whirl of ambition…but when both of those fairy-tale dreams came crashing down around her ballet shoes, she and fiancée Seb find themselves back in Nettleton, their wedding and careers postponed indefinitely…

Don’t they say that you can never go home again? Sometimes they don’t get it right… This one summer is showing Anna that your dreams have to grow up with you. And sometimes what you think you wanted is just the opposite of what makes you happy…

Don’t miss this brilliant sequel to The Parisian Christmas Bake Off out May 2014!
