There’s Something About Cornwall by Daisy James: Emilie’s luck has gone from bad to worse, beginning with an ex who cheated on her and stole her camera and her dream assignment in Italy. Now she’s forced into an assignment travelling up Cornwall alongside a chef with a not so nice reputation.

But what starts out as a horror trips takes a turn when an accident leads to her being driven up the coast by hunky surfer and brewing expert Matt. What follows is an experience grabbing Emilie outside her comfort zone and forcing her to regrow a stolen confidence.

Side by side with Matt, Emilie discovers herself again. Only, some of the damage may be here for good, and not even Matt may be enough for Emilie to be able to move on.

Not terribly romantic, but definitely cute, There’s Something About Cornwall took me on a very pleasant journey through food and photography. Matt was honestly perfect. So nice, so endearing, and giving, and I really wish I could’ve delved into his character more. I really am a fan of the two points of view rather than one.

Emilie was wonderful to watch as she grew and regained confidence, learned skills, and truly began owning herself and her life again. But too often she just felt like the victim. While she did have a good arc, I wish less of the focus was on how damaged and weak she was and felt. There’s only so long I can listen to someone talk down about themselves.

Overall, for those who want a sweet and pleasant with a hint of sexy romance, I recommend There’s Something About Cornwall. It’s a slow journey with an interesting look into the food and drink of Cornwall.

A knight in a shining camper van!

Life is far from picture perfect for food photographer, Emilie Roberts. Not only has her slimy ex cheated on her, he’s also stolen her dream assignment to beautiful Venice! Instead, Emilie is heading to the wind-swept Cornish coast…

Emilie doesn’t think it can get any worse – until disaster strikes on the very first day! And there’s only one man to rescue this damsel in distress: extremely hunky surfing instructor, Matt Ashby.

Racing from shoot to shoot in a bright orange vintage camper van, Matt isn’t the conventional knight in shining armour – but can he make all of Emilie’s fairy tale dreams come true?
