True Divide by Liora Blake: Stuck in a rut, Lacey has no idea where her life is going. All she true-divide-liora-blakeknows is she can’t leave her hometown. But when her secret high school love Jake comes back to town for a day, now working as a private pilot, she might finally find her happiness.

But Jake can’t live in that small town again. He’s been traveling for ten years, not living in one place for more than a few years. But he loves Lacey, he always has.

So what happens when the girl who can’t leave meets her match with the man who refuses to stay?

“I’m pretty sure I never stopped being in love with you, Lacey. Not for one damn second. This whole time, even when I was on the wrong side of the Continental Divide, my fucking heart was still here with you.”

I love the conflict. How she can’t leave, he can’t stay, but the love they have for one another is everything. It kept me wondering what would happen the entire story how they could possibly find love happily together.

And, I don’t feel completely secure with the ending. I think it was a bit unfair, with one character’s refusal to change even though I truly felt they needed to in order to have a full development. Neither character seemed to have a strong arc, and Lacey never had much of a life or a goal so I didn’t ever feel very strongly for her as a heroine.
But, the rest of the story I loved, especially Jake and his absolute desire for Lacey. He made her feel sexy and loved, and really, isn’t that what we want? If you love a small town read and second chances, I definitely recommend True Divide.
