THE ROUGHEST DRAFT by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka (Berkley Trade Paperback Original; January 25, 2022)

An achingly romantic, bookish gem perfect for fans of Beach Read by Emily Henry and Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn.

Literary darlings Katrina Freeling and Nathan Van Huysen once topped the bestseller charts with their cowritten novel. But after an unfriendly parting-of-ways, for reasons unknown to the public, they haven’t spoken in years and have no plans to do so…but their contract says otherwise. Facing crossroads in their personal and professional lives, they’re forced to reunite in Key West and hole up in the same house where they wrote their previous book. Tension abounds, but once they start writing, old patterns—and feelings—emerge.

RAMÓN AND JULIETA by Alana Quintana Albertson (Berkley Trade Paperback Original; February 1, 2022)

A delicious Romeo and Juliet retelling—full of love and tacos!—perfect for fans of steamy enemies-to-lovers romance, telenovela inspired rom-coms like Jane the Virgin, and foodies.

When it comes to growing his father’s fast-food empire, nothing will set Ramón Montez off course. Until he meets a sexy señorita on the Day of the Dead, only to discover that she is Julieta Campos—celebrity chef, and owner of the sea-to-table taqueria his family plans to overtake for their next Taco King. Even worse, it was his father who stole Julieta’s mother’s taco recipe decades ago. As San Diego’s outraged community protests the Taco King take-over and the divide between their families grows, Ramón and Julieta struggle to balance the rising tensions. But Ramón knows that true love is priceless and despite all his successes, this is the one battle he refuses to lose.

I’M SO (NOT) OVER YOU by Kosoko Jackson (Berkley Trade Paperback Original; February 22, 2022)

A queer second-chance romantic comedy perfect for fans of Jasmine Guillory, Paul Rudnick, and Casey McQuiston.

As much as he’d like to ignore the man who broke his heart, Kian Andrews can’t help but be drawn in by Hudson Rivers’s charm. And when Hudson asks Kian to be his fake-date at Georgia high society’s wedding of the season in exchange for an introduction to one of the biggest names in media—a real chance to jumpstart his journalism career—Kian can’t turn the offer down. But their fake relationship soon begins to feel like more than a means to an end, and it’s time for both men to fact-check their feelings.

DELILAH GREEN DOESN’T CARE by Ashley Herring Blake (Berkley Trade Paperback Original; February 22, 2022)

A clever and steamy queer romantic comedy about taking chances and accepting love, with all its complications.

Struggling New York artist Delilah Green begrudgingly makes a trip back to her small home-town to photograph her stepsister’s wedding for some extra cash. But when Delilah meets the bride’s best friend Claire, she quickly develops an all-consuming crush. Claire isn’t one for surprises, and the way she begins to feel about Delilah takes her entirely off guard. When they’re forced together during a gauntlet of wedding preparations—including a plot to save Delilah’s stepsister from her horrible fiancé—Claire isn’t sure she has the strength to resist Delilah’s charms and Delilah begins to think that Bright Falls may not be so bad after all.

SADIE ON A PLATE by Amanda Elliot (Berkley Trade Paperback Original; March 15, 2022)

Featuring a young Jewish protagonist, mouthwateringly described cuisine, and a sizzling forbidden romance, Amanda Elliot delivers a delicious romantic comedy with a fresh take on the genre.

Up-and-coming Seattle chef Sadie is sure her career is over after a very messy—and public—break up with her boss. But after she lands a once-in-a-lifetime chance to participate in her favorite TV show, Chef Supreme, she thinks she may finally be able to realize her dream of opening a restaurant full of modern takes on traditional Jewish recipes. All Sadie has to do is beat some of the best chefs in the country and ignore the undeniable chemistry between her and Luke, the judge with whom she had a chance encounter only days before. Seems easy enough, right?

  2. Leeza Stetson

All the books sound like they’re interesting. My attention was especially caught by Ramon and Julieta and The Roughest Draft, but the o others caught my eye, too.

  3. Diana Hardt

All the books sound good, but Sadie on a Plate grabbed my attention. It sounds really interesting.

  4. EC

All sounds so good. The Rough Draft/Ramón & Julieta/Sadie on a Plate books definitely caught my attention since two of them were already known to me and the other one just caught it.

  5. holdenj

I have been looking forward to The Roughest Draft. A new Griffin book and several others to add to the TBR list.

  6. courtney kinder

RAMÓN AND JULIETA by Alana Quintana Albertson because I love Romeo and Juliet retellings.

  7. Glenda M

The spotlighted books are all by new to me authors and all sound interesting. Sadie on a Plate and Ramon and Julieta are the most interesting

  8. Sue Galuska

THE ROUGHEST DRAFT by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka sounds really fun.

  9. Tiffany J

I’ve been eyeing The Roughest Draft ever since I first read the blurb!

  10. Crystal

Sadie On A Plate & The Roughest Draft are the books that stand out to me. Why? Sadie On A Plate has a Jewish protagonist and sounds & looks like a great, unique, intriguing read with some romance. I really like the sounds of this one.
The Roughest Draft stands out because of book co-writers and parting of the ways for reasons unknown & will they be able to get together to co-write another book or books. How will things end?

  11. Banana cake

The roughest draft sounds great I have always wondered how people write book together.

  12. Laurie Gommermann

e Roughest Draft – features two writers, set in tropical Key West, second chance at romance, forgiveness

Ramon and Julieta- sounds cute, remake of Romeo and Juliette with a Latin flair! Celebrity chef and business takeover, lots of friction and explosive chemistry!

Sadie On A Plate- I like chefs as heroes or heroines. A Jewish chef is unique like Molly Yeh. A TV competition sounds fun!

  13. Patricia B.

Of the books highlighted here, RAMÓN AND JULIETA by Alana Quintana Albertson appeals the most. I enjoy a good enemies to friends/lovers story and the Romeo and Juliet trope always appeal. SADIE ON A PLATE by Amanda Elliot also sounds good. I guess food plot elements appeal.
Of the two giveaways, I like the second best. Four of them are favorite authors and several others are authors I would like to try.
Hope you have a wonderful 2022.
