A Baby to Tame the Wolfe by Heidi Rice’s homage to Little Red Riding Hood and what a fantastic 
tale is told. I was completely captured from the brilliant beginning to the sweet ending and everything in between.
Jack Wolfe is like a bear with a sore tooth when his carefully laid plans fall apart. His “Red” is Katy. She makes him dream of apples and sunshine and after his investigator hunts her down to her grandmother’s cabin in the woods; she resists his ridiculous offer to bail her out debt. Not even the most scorching night together can make her change her mind. But weeks later when the consequences of their night become apparent, Katy, with her hood and cape in hand ask Jack to reconsider his offer fully aware his parting words were “I don’t give second chances”.
Jack and Katy are brilliantly cast as the big bad wolf and little red riding hood. The fairy tale elements of this story are divine. Heidi Rice’s trademark humour is sprinkled thorough out. I especially loved Jack in Katy’s grandmother’s dressing gown. The adventures of the two as their love grows and drama of family entwined are spellbinding. Jack & “Red’” chemistry is sizzling and their banter brilliant.
I loved this story and would totally read it again.
