A Bargain with the Boss by Barbara Dunlop: Is the future worth fighting for? A-Bargain-with-the-BossOr should we just take the easy way out and keep up with what we’ve been doing?

Amber Bowen was a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who had climbed her way up and wasn’t about to stop. It’s not that she didn’t have ambitions, but she was loyal and knew she had a good thing in her job and with her life. What she didn’t realize was how quickly her world could spin on its axis.

Lawrence “Tuck” Tucker was the quintessential playboy, the funny thing was that he didn’t really want to be. He wanted to be a part of the family, have a role in the business, have his father respect him. The problem was that they didn’t and he got tired of fighting them, so it became easier to be the playboy. Until one day there was no longer a choice and everything was going to change quickly.

When Tuck steps into a role in the family business and Amber is now working with him everything changes. The two are thrown together to makes sure the company survives and they even get it thriving, the problems arise when Tuck’s brother arrives again and Tuck must make some hard decisions. Will he stay or will he go?

A Bargain with the Boss is an interesting novel for Ms. Dunlop, it’s a twisted and enjoyable plot that doesn’t fully resolve until the end but doesn’t stress out the reader either. Her characters are unlike others I’ve read and truly engage and interested me. Ms. Dunlop’s writing was so smooth and clear it was able to create a mini movie in my brain while I was reading. This is a good novel to go pick up and enjoy in one of those curl up and relax moments.

I’ve read about all of Dunlops western romances and adored them. Just added this new series to my wishlist. Thanks for the review.
