A Duke by Any Other Name by Grace Burrowes is the fourth book in the Rogue to Riches series. This has been such a fun series and this book fits right in with the previous books. The author’s style of writing brings the characters to life and then she adds wit and charm to make the characters so loveable. The books can be read as a standalone, but the series is so good that it’s hard not wanting to read them all!

Lady Althea Wentworth grew up in extreme poverty taking care of her younger siblings and protecting them from their abusive father. The Wentworth family’s life changes when Althea’s oldest brother, Quinn becomes the long-lost heir to the Duke of Walden (My One and Only Duke). He entrusts Althea with Lynley Vale, one of the family’s estates in Yorkshire. Althea had five Seasons and didn’t “take.” When it was time to travel to London for the next Season, she decides to stay at Lynley Vale and try to gain entrance into Yorkshire society. She tries to gain Nathaniel Rothmere’s, the Duke of Rothhaven, support but he is a recuse and refuses to see her. After several attempts to talk to him, she takes extreme measures to gain his attention. She lets her prize hogs loose!

Nathaniel is guarding a family secret and must remain secluded to maintain it. No one is allowed onto Rothhaven estate and he never participates in local society. The only time anyone sees him is when he rides across the moors at night. When he finally leaves his estate to ensure Althea comes and collects her hogs, he is intrigued by his neighbor. He wants to help her but can’t risk becoming involved in society. Althea slowly breaks through his walls and he must make a hard decision. To be with the woman he loves he must reveal the family’s secret.

This was such a wonderful book to read. It flowed smoothly and was hard to put down once I started. Althea was such a strong and nurturing female. I was so glad to see her get her happy ever after. The next book in the series will be Robert Rothmere and Constance Wentworths and looks very interesting.

Nathaniel, Duke of Rothhaven, lives in seclusion, leaving his property only to gallop his demon-black steed across the moors by moonlight. Exasperated mamas invoke his name to frighten small children, though Nathaniel is truly a decent man—maybe too decent for his own good. That’s precisely why he must turn away the beguiling woman demanding his help.

Lady Althea Wentworth has little patience for dukes, reclusive or otherwise, but she needs Rothhaven’s backing to gain entrance into Polite Society. She’s asked him nicely, she’s called on him politely, all to no avail—until her prize hogs just happen to plunder the ducal orchard. He longs for privacy. She’s vowed to never endure another ball as a wallflower. Yet as the two grow closer, it soon becomes clear they might both be pretending to be something they’re not.
