Rob is an pediatric oncologist who maintains his distance with everyone and does not let anyone get too close emotionally. Jessica is producing a documentary that is very close to her heart and therefore she needs Rob at any cost. She too has suffered in the past and has come out stronger than ever from the ordeal. There were many issues to be dealt with before Rob and Jessica could get their HEA. Therefore there was a healthy amount of angst and many emotional moments in this romance.
