A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting: Miles is comfortably a dog person but when his dear mother asks him to take care of her Sphynx cat Prince Francis while she is in hospital, he has little to no choice but to say yes, however things with the furless devil just doesn’t seem to be going well at all. Which is why Miles enlists the help of internet famous Kitty Whisperer, Kitty Hart. However things do not get off to the best start when Kitty and Miles have one epically awkward first meeting followed by a series of even more awkward moments. But as the two spend time together walls begin to fall and a true friendship begins to form as they try to help each other process their past traumas and hardships. Could the little furless Gremlin be the one to actually help Miles find a happily ever after?
As a cat person this book was so meant for me! I loved ever single moment of this furry cute cat filled romance, in true Hunting style this book was so much more than a cute little love story, A Love Catastrophe was filled emotion, true connection and one incredible romance. I loved that these two people were so meant for each other and their journey to finding true love was filled with so many cat puns, truly purr-fect.
Kitty was such a sweetheart, her love and passion for cat shines through the pages. It is so easy to relate to her character and incredibly easy to root her on. I loved that her character felt so real and the worries and insecurities that she was dealing with felt relatable. More than this I loved that she truly loved cats, as a cat person Kitty was easily one of my favourite leading ladies. Where Kitty was easy going and relaxed our hero Miles was a bit more buttoned up and serious, as a data analyst for an NFL team he had his hands, full more so now with his mothers declining mental health. With his busy schedule the last thing Miles has time for is the cat from hell but being a good son he wants to make his mother happy even if Prince Francis is out to turn his world upside down. I loved that even though Miles clearly did not love Prince Francis he tried his best to connect with the devil cat and he genuinely wanted to help make him comfortable as possible. For me personally this was enough to melt my heart. The more we get to know Miles the more I found myself liking him as a person, not only did he have a lot going on but he genuinely was a nice guy.
I really liked the connection the formed between Kitty and Miles. These two just got each other, with both of them having had to deal with major losses in their personal lives they were able to help support and guide each other. Even thought they were poler opposites they kind of just worked. I really liked getting to see them open up to each other as the book progressed and getting to seeing them leaning on each other as they navigated their current difficulties. Hunting does not play around in this book touching on a number of sensitive topics such as cyberbullying, grief, mental health and losing a family member. The way in which these topics are handled were both respectful but also moving, and for me I think this is what made this book stand out.
I do have to take a moment to mention Prince Francis, this cat truly made this book incredible! He was such a character and I loved that he caused so much of mischief and mayhem in each chapter, truly the star of the show! A Love Catastrophe was equal parts cute and emotional making it a total must read. If you love cats, cute romcoms and a bit of punch in the feelings then this is the book for you!

The fur is about to fly between a cheerful cat sitter and a grumpy hockey nerd in this hilarious and charming rom-com by the New York Times bestselling author of Meet Cute .
Kitty Hart has become internet famous as the Kitty Whisperer for her expertise on all things feline, and as a result, her cat-sitting business is booming. But lately, she has a terrible feeling that maybe her life isn’t quite going where it’s supposed to—especially after falling face-first into her newest client. Not exactly the best first impression .
Fortunately, Miles Thorn is just as bad at first impressions. Strike he doesn’t like cats, especially Prince Francis, the haughty and mischievous Sphynx his mom left in his care. Strike tackling Kitty to the floor in a misguided attempt to save the pet he continually calls “the gremlin.”
As awkwardness slides into attraction and things start to turn purr-sonal, will these two complete opposites ever be able to find their furry-tail ending?
