When their first electrifying kiss nearly proves both their undoing, Sandro is determined to unleash all the passion his mysterious queen has learned to hide so well!

A Queen for the Taking? by Kate Hewitt is a part of The Diomedi Heirs,it could be easily read as a standalone. It is well written realistic story about Liana and Sandro whose relationship starts as duty but soon develops into something more deeper and beautiful. They both have emotional baggage which makes them both distrustful of love but they help each other to heal and open their hearts again. The romance was not easy and they had to solve a lot of issues to be together but in the end it was all worth it. An epilogue wraps the story quite nicely and I could not help smiling when I put the book down.

Liana is an ice princess in the true sense because she appears to be devoid of emotions for most of the story. She is still stuck in the past and is unable to move on from a certain incident in her past.Sandro is a damaged soul and the word “love” has lost all its meaning to him.His past mistakes makes him vary of trusting anyone else and therefor he has closed his heart.I loved the main characters and their romance but I would have liked to see a little bit of more heat in the story. Though everything makes perfect sense in the end, I would have prefered Liana was a little free in her emotions.

Overall, A Queen for the Taking? by Kate Hewitt is a well written and enjoyable romance which leaves you with a smile in the end.If you like the rocky road in the romance then go for this one.
