A Second Chance in Valentine Valley by Emma Cane is just what the title declares, a second chance at love after a heartbreaking and devastating accident that throws our two main characters together. This is a book about love, loss, and finding the strength to move forward with the help of friends and family. This is the story of Steph and Jeremy.

Steph gets a second chance at love in this heartwarming novel, but it comes with complications as she is keeping secrets and carrying a load of guilt. Between her family, her work at the Sugar and Spice Bakery, and helping the Valentine Valley widows save an historic schoolhouse, her days are full. It’s only in her dreams that she revisits the accident that took her husband, the one she cannot stop blaming herself for.

Jeremy left Valentine for medical school and has now returned to take his place as the town’s new doctor. He first knew Steph as the bratty little sister of his best friend. Now the town doctor, he is the man that saved Steph from the avalanche but was unable to save her husband. He refuses to see her as a patient and will take whatever opportunity he can to persuade Steph to go out with him. Fortunately, the town’s widows rope Jeremy into their project to save the historic Chinese School House.

As Jeremy and Steph spend time together searching for historic information, they make a finding that changes the course of the town’s history. In the end Jermey may just get his wish and help Steph come to terms with and make peace with the past.

An wonder second chance at love that would be enjoyable for everyone.
