REVIEW: Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter

Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter: Izzy is running very late, for her very first day of work at her dream job, but everyone knows that for a girl to truly function at her best she needs her fix of a pumpkin spice latte. After all how much later could she really get? Well as it would turn out the line at the local coffee shop is moving a lot slower than normal, so when the barista calls out for a person named Amy three time with no answer, Izzy does the unthinkable and claims the coffee as her own… no biggie right, after all she has already paid for the exact same drink only she kind of skipped the wait. Only to turn around and walk right into easily the hottest guy that she has ever seen.

High of her total meet cute moment, Izzy heads to work, where reality comes crashing down, when she meets the VP of her department, Blake Phillips, her coffee hottie. Only this time Blake is not all smiles and charm, turns out Blake does not find her little morning incident all that funny… even with Blake trying to be a grump, there is no denying the initial spark that they both felt at the coffee shop, the question now is can Izzy salvage her meet cute and turn it into an epic love story?

Accidentally Amy was an easy over the top cute romcom. This book was low in angst and high in cute factor. While there were a few moments that felt a bit cringy, it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. Initially I was drawn to the cute cover and the inside pretty much matched, easy to follow with low drama and loads of banter.

I really liked both main characters. Izzy was easy to relate to in the sense she was your typical twenty something girl running around trying to find her feet while still being cute. Where as Blake was a bit more interesting, he definitely did not like the fact that Izzy lied about who she was, but this did not stop him from being totally intrigued by her. I really liked the easy banter and the back and forth pull between these two. There was little to no drama in this book and I for one actually liked that this was essentially just a cute read.

All in all Accidentally Amy was a short cute romcom read. If you are in the mood for a cute, easy romcom then this is definitely the book for you.

Only when she gets to her new office and meets the VP of her department, it is none other than Blake Phillips – the hottie from Starbucks. And the man might’ve been charming to “Amy,” but he is an arrogant grump to Izzy, an arrogant grump who dos not find her explanation funny at all.
