After the Vows by Claudia Y. Burgoa: If anyone had told Teddy St. James that she would be living her very own James Bond style high chase mysterious life, she would have straight out laughed in their faces… but if the events surrounding her and Seth Bradley are anything to go by fiction is starting to look a lot like her real life… with their supposed fake marriage from ten years ago popping up and Seth’s job putting Teddy in the line of fire these two have no choice but to put aside their hate-hate relationship and work together if they want to out smart the cartel! Between running for their lives and confusing past confessions the line between hate and love beings to blur, could the guy that annoyed her all these years now be the guy that makes her feel all melty?
Well I really was not expecting this book to be filled with so much drama, suspense and action, but boy did Burgoa deliver and then some with After The Vows. I just loved all the layers to this book and how intertwined both Seth and Teddy have been in each others lives. As far as second chance romances go this was definitely one of the best. I loved the fact that these two didn’t have a clean cut love story, there was so many secrets and such a messy past that they had to work through to actually get their happily ever after.
We got to see both Seth and Teddy in the first book in this series and I could already tell that they were going to be packing in the drama and gosh do they in this book. I really enjoyed getting to see the softer side to Seth in this book and really getting to understand why he has always felt the need to push Teddy away when he clearly has feelings for her. We really get a deep dive in to their past and how it still haunts Seth. As for Teddy well she was a total boss lady and I loved this about her. I really liked her bond with Piper even after Asher’s death. More than anything I really liked her love for her family and the bond she had with them.
I really don’t want to say to much about this book purely because this is the time of story that you need to read and get the full effect to really appreciate it. What I will say is that both Teddy and Seth are amazing, I loved the constant crackling tension between them. They have the entire love hate, can’t stand each other but want jump each other at the same time vibe down to a tee. I loved seeing them team up to try and protect the people that they love all while trying to figure out what is really going on between them. Which only made the cliffhanger at the end all the more annoying! I really can not wait to get my hand on the continuation of Seth and Teddy’s story! In the mean time I would definitely recommend reading After The Vows.
