Alone with You (Made in Montana) by Debbi Rawlins: Lexy Worthington comes from an extremely wealthy family. Her father is the CEO of the Worthington business conglomerate. Throughout her childhood, Lexy was given whatever she wanted as long as it benefited her father in some way. So when it came time for college, her father wanted her to go to Harvard, his Alma Mater. Lexy defied him by going to Stanford and at that moment, she was basically cut off financially.

Lexy has bills to pay and college loans to repay. So crawling back to her father is no easy feat, but she has no choice because her job was eliminated and her job searches yielded no prospects. Due to her defiance, her father wants to teach her a lesson and as a result, she has to prove her worth. Her first assignment? Finding a hot, well-known rodeo star to pose for a promotional calendar. Luckily, her father’s assistant adores Lexy and wants to see her succeed. In addition, she knows all about the corporate deviousness that goes on and as a result, supplies Lexy with the name of the perfect cowboy, who just happens to be under contract to Worthington for another ten days. All Lexy has to do is find him and get him to Houston in time for the photo shoot.

Will Tanner is a good looking cowboy that does not believe in traveling by air. He travels the rodeo circuit via Betsy, an old trailer that he drives himself. Due to his age, his days of being a pliant, rodeo superstar are dwindling. Tanner and his brother were raised by his mother’s parents, after his mother died in the war and because their father was only around when he had a free moment or two. Tanner’s success put his brother through law school and provided some income for his grandparent’s ranch. Tanner is a generous man and will do whatever is necessary to ensure that his family is safe and secure.

Lexy finds Tanner and explains her need for his professional services. Due to the contract, he has no choice but to go with her to Houston. However, that does not prevent him from taking the longest route possible in order to delay the inevitable. Throughout their travels, the get to know each other and eventually fall in love. However, the route to Houston is plagued with uncertainty, surprises and revelations.

This is a nicely written western romance. The characters are interesting and I liked how the relationship between Lexy and Tanner evolved.
