An Amish Reunion by JoAnn Brown is one of the sweetest stories I have read lately. And JoAnn Brown is quickly becoming a favorite author in the Amish genre! The Stoltzfus family returns in this story, with brother Daniel being a primary character- and Daniel calls on former girlfriend Hannah when he needs her to remove bees from his construction project.
Hannah has very ambivalent feelings towards Daniel, and she is also juggling caring for hives along with caring for her elderly great grandmother who suffers from Alzheimers Disease. In this story, we also see two beautiful traits of the Amish- the tendency to care for ailing elderly family members at home rather than placing them in a nursing home; the other trait we see is the love of the Amish for children with special needs. Hannah is quickly thrust in to the role of older sister and mother in one when her long absent father leaves his toddler daughter Shelby on Hannah’s doorstep.
Hannah didn’t even know she had a sister! Sadly, Shelby won’t have anything to do with Hannah but she adores Daniel. I invite my fellow readers to enjoy this beautiful story!

The pretty beekeeper knows all about honeyand nothing about tending to a kinder, especially one with special needs. She’s grateful to Daniel Stoltzfus for offering to help care for her sister in exchange for Hannah’s beekeeping skills on a hive at his workplace. But the handsome carpenter broke her heart years ago and she’s afraid it’s never quite mended.
