I have to say that Blue Lines by Toni Aleo had been on my wish list to read since the end of Empty Net. If you read Empty Net, you may remember that Piper Allen and Erik Titov had a brief affair and in the end when Audrey was in the hospital we found out that Piper was pregnant but unwilling to tell anyone yet.
Since Piper saw those two blue lines on the pregnancy test she has been hiding out in Elleanor’s beach house while working on her drawings for a book and hiding her pregnancy from her family and friends. But her days of hiding are coming to an end when she has to show up for a family reunion. But letting anyone know about her pregnancy will be difficult, especially since Erik is her sister’s brother-in-law and since her sister has been trying to get pregnant but has not been able to.
Well things will definitely get hot and interesting, I like many started not liking Erik so much for the way he treated Piper, but after learning about his upbringing and his fears I couldn’t blame him anymore. On the contrary I wanted to hug him and tell him that he was different and he would not hurt Piper if he cared about her.
I loved that Piper was strong enough to want to keep her baby and faced her family even though they all considered her a failure in a way for not sticking to school or any career. And her sister (not the twin), I wanted to slap her when she wanted Piper to give her the baby because she could not get pregnant and wanted a baby and believed she would be a better mother than Piper.
Now the fact the Piper helps Erik so he can stay in the team and works a story with him to convince everyone that they are couple will just complicate things a little but also make things more interesting. For the attraction and chemistry has not diminished in all this time. And when a team mate starts hitting on Piper and Erik gets all jealous you just know that things are about to get more interesting.
Blue Lines is hot, sweet and oh so nice a read. If you love the Assassins series as much as I do, you know that you will love it. And Erik and Piper’s relationship has just the right amount of conflict and hope with lots of love to make the perfect combination for a good read.

December 9th 2013 by Loveswept – Random House | Series: The Assassins,
Opposites do more than just attract in Toni Aleo’s latest Nashville Assassins novel about a very bad boy and the good girl he can’t resist.
The instant Piper Allen sees Erik Titov, she wants him—wants his rock-hard body, sure, but the strength and mystery that lies behind that superstar hockey jock demeanor, too. So when he sidles up to her at a bar and slinks his arm around her waist, she’s lost. What follows is the wildest night of her life . . . followed by inevitable heartbreak the next morning. And then, a few weeks later, a very big surprise: two blue lines on a pregnancy test.
Only a check to the head could make Erik fall for a nice girl like Piper. But since their crazy-sexy night together, he’s been trying to forget about her alluring body by falling into bed with every woman in Nashville, and it’s not working. So when Piper shows up at his house with a baby-bomb to drop, it doesn’t take much for Erik to suggest the nuclear option: marriage. While it’s supposed to be all for show, the second they say “I do,” the ice between them starts to melt into sizzling steam.

I’m just starting the series. I’m reading Taking Shots. I just read a few lines of your review bc I saw a potential spoiler (piper pregnancy test) and stopped reading. Glad to know you like the series is great bc I’m loving the 1st book.
