Bodyguard…to Bridegroom? by Nikki Logan: Is anyone worthy of love? Or really is anyone not worthy of love?
Seraphina Blaise fought this question almost her entire life. Would she ever be worthy of love? The daughter of a rock star and a groupie, she didn’t have anyone constant in her life. She had people her father would hire to care for her, she had friends that were in it for what she could do for them, but she had no one. Her father tried, he did, but he was just too self absorbed. So she tried to get his attention and this last time it got her exiled to the Middle East for four weeks with a body guard and the orders to not get into trouble.
Brad Kruger was a bodyguard and he was good at it. It had been former special ops but now much preferred short term not attachment forming missions. Yes they weren’t always the most exciting but sometimes that was for the better. That way he couldn’t get anyone hurt by growing too attached.
When Brad meets his new assignment in Sera he is really unsure as to what this rock star princess is going to be like other than all over the place. As the days go on though he begins to see this is not going to be an easy no attachment assignment.
WOW, the descriptions in this novel are amazing. Between the dunes, the colors, the landscape, it’s just a truly amazing feast for your imagination. The story admittedly is a bit harder to get into, but once you start to see it’s not a poor little rich girl the characters become much more likable. There are a couple of underlying stories as well as the main focused plot line and they add to the more complex feel of particularly Brad. This is a great read for some great places to “fly” away to.
