In Bound to the Sicilian’s Bed (Conveniently Wed #3)by Sharon Kendrick, Nicole knows she has a fight on her hands in getting Rocco to sign their divorce papers, but she never imagined he’d come to her with such an outrageous proposition. Staying married and playing the dutiful wife in exchange for what she wants. Sounds simple enough, except it’s not. Will Nicole and Rocco fight for their second chance at happy ever after, or will they go their separate ways?

”I wasn’t being serious, Rocco.”
“But I am.” His sapphire eyes flattened. “Deadly serious.”
“You want me to delay the petition.”
“I want you to play a role. You were always very good at role-play, weren’t you, Nicole? It’s easy. All you have to do is pretend to be my wife for a couple of days.”

Ms. Kendrick always writes such fascinating characters and stories, and this book was certainly a well-written and thoroughly absorbing read, as the heroine isn’t sure whether she’s going to be able to pull off what the hero wants, even though there’s still plenty of chemistry between them. Will Nicole and Rocco give their marriage another chance? Will Rocco and Nicole be able to get over the hurts of their pasts to be together, especially after what they lost that led to their marriage in the first place? Will Nicole be able to forgive Rocco for everything he’s put her through?

As for the dialogue, it was intense and emotional due to this couple’s history and their back stories, despite the fact that the heroine still has strong feelings for Rocco, but feels a divorce is the best way for her to be truly happy if her husband can’t overcome his past and give her the love she deserves. Moreover, the heroine is resilient and brave in giving into what Rocco wants just so she can have what she wants. Will she get her divorce in the end or will Rocco finally come to his senses and realize that he can’t live without Nicole? I also liked that she provided a bit of a challenge for the hero, because there’s no way she’s going to make things easy. While the hero, he’s confident, plays to win and not above using blackmail to get what he wants. I also liked that Rocco finally opened up to Nicole about his past because it finally helps him to heal from it, which he needs to finally realize how much in love with the heroine he is.

”Should I be flattered?”
She met his gaze. “What do you think?”
He shrugged. “I never know what to think where you’re concerned, Nicole. Take last night, for example. One minute you’re hot for me and the next as cold as ice. You are something of an…enigma.”
She gave a short laugh. “That’s rich, coming from you. The man who never talks about his feelings.”

Overall, Ms. Kendrick has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple is as strong in the present as it was during their marriage; and the ending had me smiling as the hero does everything he can to makes things right between them once everything goes awry. I would recommend Bound to the Sicilian’s Bed by Sharon Kendrick, if you enjoy books by authors Penny Jordan, Jane Porter, Tara Pammi and Caitlin Crews.
