Bright Lights and Summer Nights by Kat Singleton: With all of her friends well on their way to living their happily ever afters Emma cant help but feel a bit like the lost sheep of the group, with no job to speak of and really no life plan as such, she needs a bit of break to figure out what she wants to do with her life. Which is how she finds herself spending the summer in the Hamptons at her best friends house. However what was supposed to be a summer of ‘her’ soon turns into a crazy week playing the role of fake girlfriend to non other than famous football star Preston Rhodes. It all stated when Preston caught Emma trying to sneak into his sisters wedding week welcome dinner, after a few drinks together the two find themselves so wrapped up in their own little bubble that Preston accidentally introduces Emma as his girlfriend… soon the little lie bubbles out of control and Emma has no choice but to help Preston for the week… however somewhere between all the family bonding, early morning coffees and couples tennis, the line between faking it and actually falling for each other begins to blur… can these two turn their fake summer fling into a very real happily ever after?
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! There was absolutely nothing not to love about this super cute fake turned real summer romcom! Just like the other books in this series, this book was easy to get invested in and had all the makings of an incredible read. I loved how easily Emma and Preston got lost in each other and how natural their romance felt, even the pacing of this book worked for me.
Emma was easily the best leading lady, she was a bit lost but so completely herself. I loved getting to follow her on her journey of trying to figure her life out. I absolutely loved the fact that she was determined to find herself before she allowed a relationship to consume her. Aside from having great character growth, I loved how fun and sassy she was and how she instantly bonded with Preston’s family. I absolutely loved that she decided – drunkenly – to post her summer of discover on instagram as a follow along blog chronicles. This was such a nice added touch to the book, though I did not liked that she allowed some mean comments to get her down. As for our hero, well Preston was a total cinnamon roll hero. All grumpy and crusty on the outside but a total softie on the inside. I absolutely loved how sweet and protective he was of Emma, and how totally smitten he was by her right from the very start. I really liked that he totally supported her blog and didn’t try to stop her from sharing their journey.
These two had an instant connection and this sparky chemistry only grew as the book progressed. I loved how easily they fell into dating and how naturally it felt. It was almost as if they were meant to find each other. I loved that Emma brought out the less grumpy side to Preston and that he actually had fun during the wedding week. As for the steam, well let me just tell you the build up was brilliant! Once these two finally got together it was hot! Truly I loved their connection, but most of all I loved how sure Preston was that Emma was endgame for him, and that he was ready to wait for her to figure her life out.
The supporting characters in this book were brilliant! I loved the entire Rhodes family, they were such a hoot! Payton was so sweet and I loved the instant bond that she formed with Emma. Though I have to say the true star was Prestons Grandmother, I loved this old gal. She was a total hoot, I loved her old stories and how she had zero filter. Most of all I loved the fact she helped bring these two back together. I also really liked getting to see Winnie, Margo, Archer and Beckham again.
Bright Lights and Summer Nights was the perfect ending to one of the best series out there. This book was light, fun, easy to get invested in and had some incredible characters! I absolutely loved reading this fake-dating, sports romance, a total must read from me!!

Summer nights can be full of surprises.
As a single, unemployed, and unapologetic twenty-five year old mess, I came to the Hamptons this summer for one reason—to focus on myself and work out my quarter-life crisis. I didn’t come here planning to sneak into a private party and meet a handsome stranger.
I definitely didn’t come here expecting for that stranger to be Preston Rhodes—billionaire and superstar quarterback for the Manhattan Mambas.
And that’s not even the crazy part.
He asked me to be his pretend girlfriend for a week while his family is in town. He needed a date for his sister’s wedding, and I’d never turn down the opportunity to be spoiled by a rich man.
The only thing is, Preston’s not very good at pretending.
Now instead of discovering myself, I’m spending the week discovering what life would be like with him. Instead of focusing on me, I’m focusing on how he looks at me, how he touches me, how he wants me.
But now that neither one of us is faking it, I only hope that we can hold on to what we have through the bright lights and summer nights.
