Business Casual B.K. Borison: Charlie and Nova have been dancing around their attraction for each other for a hot minute, but the steam glances and sweet gestures are just about reaching boiling point. Which is how Nova finds herself making Charlie a proposition, one single night of no string fun to get each other out of their systems. That way Nova can go back to focusing on opening her tattoo parlour and Charlie on running Lovelight Farms, however after sharing an incredible night together they both soon realise one night just isn’t enough… the only problem now is there is no way for Nova to avoid Charlie and Charlie definitely does not plan on avoiding Nova… the question is can Charlie convince Nova that investing time in their relationship is worth her effort?

“I always notice you, nova girl.”

I just love this series, simple as that. There is yet to be a book in the Lovelight series that I have not completely loved and Business Casual is no different. This book was the perfect combination of sweet, cute and a touch spicy. This book was truly the best way to conclude one of my favourite series, Borinson has done a brilliant job in tying together the opposites attract, grump meets sunshine and friends to lovers tropes while keeping true to the magic that surrounds Lovelight Farms.

I really liked Nova, she was a great example of I will fight to make my dream a reality. For the most part she was a very relatable character and I understood and appreciated her feeling that she had to prove herself to the people around her. I have to say I loved how protective she was of her family and once you joined her inner circle she would protect you fiercely. Now for our hero, Charlie, gosh did this softie just steal my heart! I loved our hero to bits, he was such a giver and never expected anything in return. His heart was so full of love and compassion and I just wanted to give him a huge hug. One of the things that I loved about both of these two characters was the fact that they both did a lot of growing in this book, they both learned that they are worthy of happiness and getting/asking for what they want. I really enjoyed getting to see them work past their fears of failing the people that are important to them and learning that they are worthy of what they have and what they have achieved.

The chemistry between Nova and Charlie was just beautiful, these two had so much of playful banter that it was hard to want to put this book down. I loved the build up of their relationship was it went from friends to friends with benefits to so much more. I just ate up the slow burn build up that these two played into and boy let me just tell you once they finally gave into the pull, well it was fire hot! While the spice in this book was top notch, I have to say I also really enjoyed the emotional connection that these two built. They were both facing inner struggles that in a large way mirrored each other and I loved getting to see them lean on each other for support and really to help on another realise that it is okay.

It is always a treat getting to return to the beauty that is Lovelight Farms and this time was no different, I really enjoyed getting to see a few familiar faces and getting to see where they each had progressed in their lives. These characters truly were friends goals, they always had each others back and brought the giggles in buckets.

Business Casual was the best way to end an incredible series, I’m sad to see the end of the Lovelight series but with a book like this it is impossible not to end on a happy note. I highly recommend reading this entire series, but if you are just looking for a standalone cute opposites attract romcom then this is definitely the book for you!

Nova Porter isn’t looking for love, and she certainly has no explanation for her attraction to buttoned-up, three-piece-suit-wearing investment banker Charlie Milford. Maybe it’s his charm? Or maybe it’s his determination to help her fledgling business however he can. Either way, she’s distracted every time he’s around. With her new tattoo studio set to open in her hometown of Inglewild, she doesn’t have time for frivolous flirtations.

In an effort to get Charlie out of her system once and for all, Nova offers a proposition. One night. No strings. They’ll kick their uncomfortable attraction to the curb and return to their respective responsibilities. But their explosive night together scatters their expectations like fallen leaves. And with Charlie in town as the temporary head of Lovelight Farms, Nova can’t quite avoid him.

And Charlie? Well, Charlie knows a good investment when he sees one. He’s hoping he can convince Nova he’s worth some of her time.
