In One Wore Blue by Heather Graham, Kiernan Miller is the privileged daughter of a Virginia plantation owner. She was always in love with her neighbor Jesse Cameron, but since he is ten years her senior she has had to wait to grow up to catch his eye. Unfortunately, after she catches his eye and shares passionate kisses with him, Jesse abandons his roots, his family and her in order to join the Union army and become a Rebel.

Jesse, an army surgeon, has never forgotten his love Kiernan. He had to leave her behind when he had to ride North, but not only did that separate them, their convictions and being loyal to opposite sides of the war does not help them at all.

Jesse has vowed to return to her and regain Kiernan’s love. But soon after while on the rebound Kiernan married another man only to be widowed shortly after and has vowed to hate Jesse forever. A vow that will be threatened when the Union soldiers, along with Jesse, come marching up to her door.

Jesse and Kiernan’s loyalties, beliefs and love will be put to the test during such a difficult time in war. The things they realize during such a difficult time will make them doubt the decisions they made in the past, and try to make better choices for the future.

This is the first book in this trilogy and it’s has a great way to describe the beginning to the war and how it tore families and friends apart with some difficult decision and choices, but how some could also found the way to be together again. Full of great historical facts and information, this book will give you a good look into the Civil War.

In this sensual Civil War romance from Heather Graham, the scars of battle are healed by a searing desire that crosses enemy lines.

Callie Michaelson knows all too well the costs of war. Her husband gave his life on the battlefield, fighting for the North. Now Callie’s only defense is to hunker down and hope the war blazes right on past her Maryland farm. But when a dashing Confederate soldier falls on her land, Callie is inexplicably roused to help this desperate, surprisingly vulnerable, and heartbreakingly desirable man.

After suffering the sting of defeat, Colonel Daniel Cameron wants nothing more than to heal his wounds and rejoin his retreating cavalry unit. But the look in the silver-gray eyes of the stunningly beautiful Yankee widow tells him to stay—at least for one night of passion. In Callie’s bed, Daniel forgets all about the horrors he has seen. He also forgets that he is too deep in Union territory to trust any woman. And soon enough Daniel discovers that wounds of the flesh are nothing compared to wounds of the heart.

And One Rode West by Heather Graham
And-One-Rode-West-by-Heather-Graham
In And One Rode West by Heather Graham, Christa Cameron a Rebel is suffering the indignities of defeat in the aftermath of Civil War. But that does not mean that she has lost her spirit or her hatred of the Yankees. Especially when the only way to save her plantation from being confiscated was to marry a Yankee officer. She coaxed Colonel Jeremy McCauley into marrying her, but she had promised herself that she would keep her pride and purity intact.

Jeremy is a determined man, but somehow he finds himself doing things he had no intention of doing. For one marrying Christa starts the list, then trying to convince her to consummate their marriage and ending up pretty much forcing himself on her the day after their wedding. But he knows that he must protect her because as his wife she must ride with them and the dangers abound.

As stubborn and willful as Christa is, she will soon find out the true meaning of devotion and freedom when in defiance of Jeremy’s request to not wonder off she takes off and end’s up as a hostage of the savages. Christa will have an entire new outlook about everything she believed after that.

Life after the battle does not necessarily means an easy life, and we will see that in this story, as Christa has to ride west with the Yankees while they are on the way to Fort Jacobson in the Texas/Oklahoma territory where Jeremy has been assigned. The will face a lot of challenges and hardships against the Indians and some Rebels.

Be warned that Christa may get on your nerves with her stubborn ways, and I mean stubborn just for being contrary and not exactly because she feels that way. But Jeremy falling for her and trying to keep her safe is so hero worthy that he makes up for it.

This is the last book in this trilogy, and the ending is a perfect ending for the entire trilogy, so if you have read the other two make sure you don’t miss And One Rode West by Heather Graham.

I read these books when they were first released. I loved how Heather Graham involved you in the lives of this family and their life and death struggles keeping their family and home together during the Civil War and after during the carpetbagger time. Now I need to find my paperback copies so I can re-read them.
