Can’t Help Falling in Love by Sophie Sullivan: Lexi was set to become a star track athlete until life as she knew it changed forever, forced to drop out after the death of her father. Now Lexi spends her days waiting tables, trying to put herself through school and taking care of her grieving mother. What she really needs is a bit of fun, so when fate practically throws her in the lap of Will Grand, she takes it as a sign to live a little. What starts out with a cute first date with Will soon turns into Lexi finding herself fake engaged to Seattle’s most eligible bachelor. If Will wants to prove that he is really ready to take over the family empire then he needs to ensure an important merger with a very family oriented company goes through without a hitch and it that means he needs to fake his relationship status then so be it… the only thing being Will never quite envisioned actually beginning to fall for his fake fiancé… the question is can he convince commitment wary Lexi that he is worth taking a real chance on?

I really enjoy reading Sullivan’s books, there is always something so warm and comforting about her writing style and that was very much the case with Can’t Help Falling In Love. This book was warm, cute, funny and definitely embodied all the fall vibes. I loved the way she combined the meet cute, turned into fake dating, and finally friends to lovers trope to create such a cute love story.

Lexi was such an easy to love leading lady, not only was she hilarious but she was easy to relate to. I loved how quirky and clumsy she was and all of her sassy comebacks. Even though she has had a less than easy life so far, this not stop her determination or resilience one bit. As for our hero, well I do love it when the hero falls first and that was definitely the case for our guy Will. I really liked how smitten he was with Lexi and the effort that he put into making her feel comfortable. Aside from being a genuinely nice guy, he was really funny, though I will say that I would have like a bit more of a character arch from him.

The chemistry between Lexi and Will just felt natural and perfect. There was a really nice natural slow build up in their relationship from forming a easy friendship to slowly building trust in each other to falling for this all consuming love. The thing that I loved the most about this couple was how invested Will was in making sure that Lexi was comfortable with each step. Truly this couple was sweet and relatable and I really liked the fact that they continued to support each other throughout the novel.

Can’t Help Falling In Love was cute, warm and fuzzy read, there was little to no drama but loads of cute moments. Definitely worth checking out!

Lexi Danby is looking for some no-strings, fall fun. Once a college track star, she was forced to drop out when her father passed away. Now she’s trying to make ends meet while putting herself through school and caring for her grieving mother. When her comically bad waitressing lands her directly in the path of a handsome, charming stranger named Will, Lexi may just have found the distraction she’s been looking for. Their first date looks promising until a misunderstanding at a party thrusts Lexi and Will into a fake engagement they can’t talk themselves out of. And Will turns out to be a member of Seattle royalty.

Will Grand is heir to a major company, and Seattle’s most eligible bachelor. But he’s been placed in charge of an important merger with a company that values family above all else, and needs to show them that he’s settled down. While a fake engagement is advantageous from a business standpoint, it’s not so great for a budding relationship with a woman who’s wary of commitment. With a woman who Will is beginning to care about much more than he could have anticipated.

As Lexi gets a taste of Will’s glamorous world and the pair keeps up the pretense of their fake engagement for the press, they decide to see where a more casual relationship takes them out of the spotlight. And amid apple picking in comfy flannels, outdoor breweries in the crisp air, and fun Halloween preparations, Lexi starts to realize the scariest part of the season might just be taking a chance on love.
