Carrying Her Millionaire’s Baby by Sophie Pembroke: Running from what you thought would be your future might run you into your past or it may take a couple of turns to get you to the future you are supposed to have.
Zoey Hepburn was the runaway bride. It’s not like she wanted to be but every time she got close she realized that something was wrong. The bigger issue was that most of the time she couldn’t figure out what that was until she got a lot closer to the wedding. One day she would find true happiness and love, right?
Ash Carmichael had found his true love once and had lost it. Was it really better to have loved and lost? Well he didn’t know about that, what he did know though, was that he was trying to protect Zoey and he needed to help her figure out her future. That was his job now, right?
However running out on another wedding and then stuck on an island? Well what happens next will always decide the future, but in what way?
This book was hard. The details of certain things were so drawn out it was just hard. However in this runaway bride story one of the best lines ever was written: ‘When you two argued, it was because you were working something out between you. You were building a partnership—one that was far deeper and more important than the bins or the overdraft, but those things still had to be dealt with. Every row you had, it brought you closer together. Closer to the people you wanted to be for each other.’ There are several amazing quotes in this story and for those moments alone this is a necessary read.
