Christmas in Vermont: A Very White Christmas by Bryan Mooney is a heartwarming story sure to get you in the mood for the Christmas season. This is the story about finding your soul mate under extreme circumstances. This is the story of Jake and Hope.
Jake Reynolds is an ex-Marine who returns to his little home town in Woodstock, Vermont, hoping to find peace with family and friends, trying to keep hope alive that his little brother is still alive and lost, not presumed dead in a military helicopter crash. The one thing that he never imagined is that he would find the woman that held his hand, the woman that he protected from insurgents, the woman that in the end saved his life, the one woman that he could not forget, Hope.
Hope always wondered what happened to the Marine that saved her life, the one that held her hand when they were trapped in the rubble of a destroyed school building, and she didn’t even know his name. Hoping to honor his memory, she remembered everything that he told her about his beautiful little home town tucked away in the mountains of Vermont. Taking a job as a substitute teacher, she never expected that the man that she though was stalking her was really the man that she has dreamed of seeing again.
When Jake’s Uncle retires from the Postal Service and Jake and Hope volunteers to hand deliver a bag of misplaced Christmas Cards from the previous year, it show them that there is still hope, love, healing, and compassion in Woodstock. That neighbors are still ready to jump in and help where they can, and that maybe, just maybe, Christmas miracles still exist.
I loved everything about this sweet, wonderful Christmas story. It is about finding hope, keeping faith, and finding love. This story had me on the edge of my seat and had me in tears. It made me believe that miracles really do happen, and what more perfect setting than the snowy mountains of Vermont.

In the small town of Woodstock, Vermont, Christmas means white snow and warm traditions. For ex-Marine Jack Reynolds, it’s a chance to visit home and sort out his life. He’s engaged but unhappy, his brother is missing in action, and he often thinks about Hope, the beautiful teacher who helped him survive an attack in Iraq before disappearing. Unbeknownst to Jack, Hope is in Woodstock, having sworn to visit the hometown of the man who saved her life.
A chance encounter brings Jack and Hope together once more, and they instantly feel the same deep connection that sustained them in Iraq. When a long-lost bag of Christmas cards is discovered at the local post office, the pair sets out to deliver them. As the letters bring joy around Woodstock, Jack and Hope grow closer—but misunderstandings and uncertainty come between them. Can the cozy town’s Christmas spirit help them find the courage to follow their hearts?
