Cowboy-CrushCowboy Crush by Liz Talley: An injured cowboy and a city girl, a ranch in the middle of nowhere Texas and dreams that rival the state? What good is going to come of this?

Maggie Stanton didn’t know why her boss and her father figure had given her his ranch when he passed away. She didn’t understand why she was in the middle of nowhere Texas trying to make it work. Maggie didn’t have a clue about any of it, and she knew she needed help quickly.

Calhoun Lincoln was just trying to pass some time, rehab his shoulder and get ready to get back to the rodeo, then she walked into his world. So he started thinking a little differently, maybe it was time that they could spend together enjoy themselves and then be off to their different futures.

When it comes to flipping properties though people tend to get close and Mags and Cal might have gotten a little closer than they had planned but the time together may have them healing a lot more than the physical stuff they had planned on.

Ms. Talley has given her readers a fast paced novel that gives her characters some interesting twists as they learn more about themselves. What really works with this novel is the play between Mags and Cal. Miss Talley makes them bounce in this weird world of lovers, friends, boss and employee without ever really making it seem like any sort of real transition is happening. The ending itself isn’t a huge surprise but the twist of how it comes to be in unusual. This is a nice cowboy/city slicker novel with a good bit of heat.

Cowboy for hire

Pro bull rider Cal Lincoln is back home in Coyote Creek, Texas, recovering from an injury and bored out of his mind. Then she walks in—a stunning brunette with sinfully kissable lips. She was definitely not a local. Suddenly things are lookin’ up…

Maggie Stanton can’t let herself—or her starved libido—get distracted by a broad-shouldered cowboy with a sexy-as-all-hell smile. She needs to fix up the dilapidated ranch she’s inherited and sell it fast. If that means hiring Cal to help, she will—temptation be damned. But she and Cal can’t deny their attraction and agree to work hard on the ranch during the day and then play hard at night. Even knowing that every wild rodeo ride usually ends with someone getting hurt.
