In Dante’s Unexpected Legacy by Catherine George, Rose has a passionate and unforgettable one night stand with enigmatic Italian tycoon Dante Fortinari but by the next morning Dante goes away, leaving Rose heartbroken, alone and pregnant. She soon DULdiscovers that Dante was engaged to be married when he slept with her. Shattered by his deception, she decides to not tell him about her pregnancy.

Four years later, Rose comes once again face to face with her daughter’s father when she visits her friend in Florence. She can no longer hide the truth of that night. She knew he’d be angry, but never expected him to demand marriage! She longs to accept, but can her heart withstand life with a man who might never love her back?

Dante’s Unexpected Legacy by Catherine George has a good premise but I found it to be an okay read. First of all, it doesn’t fit in the Presents line and the key elements of what I expect from a Presents read are missing. Dante deceived Rose when they first met by not telling her he was engaged. He is too pushy and does not do anything worthwhile to redeem himself. He also fails to pick up the many hints which prove Bea is his daughter. I am personally not a fan of alpha cruel heroes and therefore Dante left me cold. Rose is a nice and sweet person who was hurt by Dante’s deception years ago If only she could have stopped saying sorry for literally everything she did or did not do wrong, then my liking of her would have increased a little more.

If you like warm-hearted family oriented romances with little tension, then give Dante’s Unexpected Legacy by Catherine George a read.
