Enchanted to Meet You by Meg Cabot: Finding love is hard enough on its own so when you have a little extra bit of magic why not use it to help even out the playing field, well this is exactly what witch Jessica thought when she cast a harmless love spell, in the hopes of attracting her one true love… well lets just say this did not go to plan seeing as instead of attracting the fairytale love story she only managed to attract all kinds of wrong attention, as well as a lifetime ban from the World Council of Witches! So when a tall, silver eyed stranger walks into her cute small town boutique claiming that she is the chosen one, you can completely understand why Jess would be a bit taken aback. But with her town in danger, Jess has no choice but to team up with Derrick to try and save West Harbour…

Enchanted To Meet You was an super cute, Practical Magic style romcom. This book was both entertaining and really cute to read. I loved that it borrowed a bit from Practical Magic but still keeps true to Cabot’s writing style of having strong female characters, witty banter, sweet romance and loads of laughs. There really was nothing not to like about this book.

I just adored Jessica, not only was she super relatable but she was genuinely a nice person. She was so proud to be a witch even though the World Council of Witches refused to recognise her or her families lineage, nonetheless she still killed it with her simple cottage witch magic, generally trying to bring a little bit of joy and magic into the world. I absolutely loved that she used her magic to help people find their confidence in their clothing and really help empower her clients. As a plus size heroine she really pushed the importance of body confidence and being comfortable in your own skin, personally I loved this about her character. I have to say that I liked the fact that the book jumps between flash back to Jessica’s school days and how they moulded her in her present self. Now for our hero, well who would like a charming yet slightly mysterious, silver eyed hot hero? I really liked Derrick, granted he was a bit of a mystery for most of the book but I liked getting to see him unfold bit by bit as the book progressed.

The connection between Derrick and Jessica was great, there was loads of underlying tension between them but in a more subtle way. I would have liked there to have been a bit more in terms of their relationship and the build up, for this to be more of a romance novel. As much as they clicked and they had a slow burn element to their relationship, I could not help but feel that this book focused more on Jessica and her growth rather than the romance between her and Derrick, this nevertheless did not take away from the over all feel of this book. Though I will say that I love the bond between Jess and Ester. Gosh Esther was a tiny firecracker and I loved every moment of this sassy 16 year old dishing out her wise cracks and sass.

Enchanted To Meet You is the perfect magicy read, with a touch of romance, loads of adventure and some amazing side characters. This book is a definite must read from me!

It’s Magic When You Meet Your Match In her teenage years, lovelorn Jessica Gold cast a spell that went disastrously wrong, and brought her all the wrong kind of attention—as well as a lifetime ban from the World Council of Witches.

So no one is more surprised than Jess when, fifteen years later, tall, handsome WCW member Derrick Winters shows up in her quaint little village of West Harbor and claims that Jess is the Chosen One.

She’s the Chosen One Not chosen by West Harbor’s snobby elite to style them for the town’s tricentennial ball—though Jess owns the chicest clothing boutique in town. And not chosen finally to be on the WCW, either—not that Jess would have said yes, anyway, since she’s done with any organization that tries to dictate what makes a “true” witch. No, Jess has been chosen to help save West Harbor itself…

As Summer Ends, Her Power Grows But just when Jess is beginning to think that she and Derrick might have a certain magic of their own—and not of the supernatural variety—Jess learns he may not be who she thought he was. And suddenly Jess finds herself having to trust Derrick and work with him to combat the sinister force battling to bring down West Harbor, or use her gift as she always to keep herself, and her heart, safe. Can she work her magic in time?
