Everything for You by Chloe Liese: What happens when two complete opposites are forced together? Well in the case of Gavin and Oliver it becomes explosive in the best way possible, but things do not start of this way when these two professional soccer players are forced to work together. If their past animosity wasn’t enough now they are faced with working together day in and day out but also having to see each other on their down time now that they are also neighbours! With their positions as co-captains on the line Gavin and Oliver have no choice but to find away to work together or face getting the boot. But there is only so much of over the top kindness that Oliver can take before he reports to the Bergman way of doing things…good old fashion pranks! Which opens a whole new can of feelings that neither guy was expecting to find, after all they do say the line between hate and love is a rather thin one…

I have religiously been following the Bergmans series and I can quiet easily say that this has been one of my favourite series to read, not only does Liese always deliver punchy and relatable characters but all of her books have always left me feeling warm and content. Which only made me all the more eager to get my hands on Oliver’s story I mean who doesn’t just love a good enemies to lovers romance? I will say that I did not enjoy Everything For You as much as I have enjoyed the other books in this series and I think that is purely because the m/m trope is not one that I’m too fond of reading, nevertheless I really can’t fault anything in the actual story.

I really enjoyed getting to see Gavin and Oliver move from total hate to flirty banter and ultimately a swoony love. As much as these two came across as complete opposites they did have a lot in common aside from their passion for soccer. They were both very alone even while being surrounded by so many people, that use this armour that they have each created to protect themselves. For Gavin it was his grouchy grump persona that he shows to everyone, whereas Oliver hide behind his bright smile and jokes. I will say that it would have been nice for us to get a little more insight into what caused their insta hate instead of jumping right into the four year time jump, this was kind of addressed as Gavin and Ollie work their way through their feelings.

The chemistry and connection between these two guys was insane, and once they got their heads together it was pretty hard not to root them on. I will say Liese has done a really good job in portraying a same sex couple and the different situations that they have to face especially being such public figures. One of my favourite things about this series is that family plays such a huge role in the entire story and this was definitely the case once again in this book. I just loved getting to see all the Bergman siblings with their respective partners and the baby Bergmans.

Everything For You is a really nice enemies to lovers sports romance that is worth checking out. I can’t wait to drive right back into the adventures of the Bergman clan!

Gavin

We’ve been teammates for two years, but it feels like a lifetime that Oliver Bergman’s been on my last nerve. A demanding captain and veteran player, I’m feared and friendless, while he’s the beloved rising star, all sunshine smiles and upbeat team spirit. To make matters worse, he’s obscenely attractive. In short: he’s genetically designed to get under my skin.

Avoiding Oliver has been my survival tactic on and off the field. But when Coach drops the bomb that we’re now co-captains, avoiding him becomes impossible, and keeping the truth from him–let alone my distance–is harder than ever.

Oliver

Life was great until soccer legend Gavin Hayes joined the team and proved he’s nothing like the guy I grew up idolizing. Instead, he’s a giant–albeit gorgeous–grump who lives to rain on my parade. I’ve sworn off pranks since entering the public eye, so rather than settle our differences the Bergman way, I’ve had to settle for killing Gavin with kindness. There’s just one problem: killing him with kindness is killing me.

To make matters worse, Coach gives us an ultimatum: put an end to our enmity or say goodbye to being captains. I’m prepared to be miserable while we meet her demands and make nice, but the last thing I expect is to discover an explosive attraction we can’t help but act on, and worse yet, to realize the man hiding beneath Gavin’s gruff exterior is all I’ve ever wanted.
