Falling-for-the-Secret-MillionaireFalling for the Secret Millionaire by Kate Hardy: Sometimes we can let our past affect our future in order to “save ourselves” when in reality it’s only blocking us from something bigger and better.

Nicole Thomas had been hurt before. She knew what it was like to have her heart ripped out, and she didn’t want that to happen again. So it was just easier to close herself off, work and get ahead. She had her mom and her best friend and she knew they wouldn’t hurt her.

Gabriel Hunter had spent the last 10 years trying to make amends to his family and to the universe for something that should never have happened. He shouldn’t have to live with it forever, should he? He was a different person now, a better person now, why couldn’t anyone see that?

Now thanks to social media anonymity, a weird will and freaky fates Gabriel and Nicole must come together to figure out a way to leave the past behind and begin their futures.

This is a bittersweet romance. While the prose flows like a river with a few twists and turns there are some major gaps in the story that allow for the reader to fill in. The characters are both real with their flaws showing them to be human which is nice and allows them to be semi relatable. Overall this is a sweet story about overcoming your past and growing into your future.
