REVIEW: Fortune’s Prince by Allison Leigh

Fortune’s Prince by Allison Leigh: Amelia Fortune Chesterfield was a lady, a real honest to goodness English Lady, the question, how did she end up in the middle of nowhere Texas? She didn’t have a reason this time, or at least not an obvious one. Was she running from her English Lord fiancé or was she even engaged?

19302487Quinn Drummond is a simple man. He loves his land, he loves his home and he thought once he loved his lady. The first woman he thought he loved cheated on him, the second got off a plane and became engaged right away. Is it any shock that he doesn’t want anything to do with her or the female species any time soon?

Fate is a fickle creature for sure though. Amelia is back and on Quinn’s ranch none the less and with nothing less than earth shattering news. The bigger question is can Quinn trust the words coming from her lips? Understanding and trust are big issues for these two and without them as a foundation, nothing stands a chance at survival.

Ms. Leigh has brought the Fortunes’ back in full force. While this is a stand-alone novel she has brought in characters and plot lines from some of the older stories while beginning to weave the lines for new ones as well.

All the while Amelia and Quinn continue their romance and while for the most part I wanted to knock Quinn upside his stubborn head for most of the story it was only because Ms. Leigh wrote him so well. His character was so relatable and so real that yes while frustrating there was just so much reality that when the end came it came beautifully and tearfully.

I highly recommend this as a book (and of course it’s going to make you want more of the Fortunes’ so be prepared for that as well).
