Funny Feelings by Tarah Dewitt: Farley has worked her tail of to get to the point in her career that she is finally in, but a lot of her success is thanks to her incredible manager and closest friend Meyer. As a former standup comedian himself Meyer could not be a better role model and mentor for Farley, add in the fact that he has become more like her best friend than just manager and Fee really has the best thing going for herself. However when the opportunity to give her career a huge push comes their way Meyer does not think twice about agreeing to stage a bit of fake dating to help drum up some publicity for Fee… the only problem is with fake dating comes some very real feelings…

“Fee, I was so fucking lonely before you found us.”
“I was so lonely before I found you guys, too.”

Funny Feelings was a really good read, this book is packed with emotion, laughs and so much heart. I really enjoyed getting to follow Fee and Meyer on their fake turned real romance journey, this couple could not be more perfect for each other and I was so there for them finally getting a happily ever after. One of the things that I really liked about this book was the fact that their relationship just progressed so naturally, even though they were fake dating their connection was so real, that it never truly felt staged or put on.

“I don’t know what I believe in as far as a higher power, Fee, but I know that I now believe that rainstorms always precede something amazing because you came into our lives on the tail end of one.”

I just loved these two characters, they truly supported each other throughout this book. Their connection was already so developed when the book starts of that it was super easy to get immersed in their relationship. I loved Fee as a leading lady, she was witty, easy going and very ambitious, but also a bit of a mess. There was something very relatable and real about her character that I automatically liked. As for our hero Meyer, well there was nothing not to love about his guy. Aside from being a great supporter and cheerleader for Fee, Meyer was a super amazing dad. I just adored his relationship with his daughter Hazel. He was so protective of Hazel but also so aware of her hearing impairment and how that changed her world. All in all I really liked our hero.

This book was slow burn perfection, the build up in Fee and Meyer’s relationship was slow but oh so good. These two had consciously decided to keep their relationship platonic all these years while both silently pinning for each other and developing an even deeper connection. I liked that this was not an overly spicy book but at the same time it did give a good amount of steamy tension.

Funny Feelings was so much more than an friends to lovers, fake dating turned real romance this book had so much of heart and emotional build up that it was impossible not to love it. If you are a fan of an age gap, friends to lovers, grump meets sunshine, feel good read then this is definitely the book for you!

When falling in love is the punchline…

Farley Jones is a loud, chaotic, and hilariously clever standup comedian on the way to stardom. The only thing she loves more than the rush of telling jokes in front of a revved-up audience is her hot older manager Meyer, though he doesn’t have a clue. Keeping her feelings hidden from him is agony (a tragedy, even―in lieu of flowers, please send cash…) but Meyer has been Farley’s closest and most treasured friend, not to mention vital to the trajectory of her career. She can’t risk ruining their relationship by telling him how she truly feels. After all, who else would have the patience to put up with a hot mess like her?

A former standup star himself, single father Meyer Harrigan left the stage years ago in order to focus on raising his deaf daughter Hazel. Farley has been everything to them since she came into their lives three years ago, and despite his grumpiness, his protectiveness over Hazel, and his disdain for public attention, Meyer will do anything to make her standup dreams come true.

When the biggest opportunity of Farley’s career comes along and forces the pair to fake-date in order to stir up publicity, it doesn’t take long for their act to bring all those other funny feelings out into the open. Like most matters of the heart, it quickly begins to feel like anything but a joke.
