Happy New Year, Baby Fortune by Leanne Banks: Stacey Fortune Jones, a single unwed 24 year old mother in a small Texas town. Colton Foster, her best friends brother, single and yet steady and trustworthy. Neither has seen beyond the other’s façade before, then as one year turns into the next with a single kiss all sorts of questions appear. Is Stacey ready 18168581for another relationship? Will any man ever accept her and Piper, her daughter, as a unit? Is Colton ready for a “ready made” family? Can these three survive their wonderful and large families?

Life in a small town is not easy, everyone knows everyone and what’s more is that everyone wants to have a voice in everything. Stacey’s ex-fiancé and the father of her daughter has been out of the picture for almost a year but when he reappears in town to check up on what was “his” Colton has to make a decision, just how much does he want Stacey and Piper in his life?

Though normally a huge fan of Leanne Banks I have to admit the writing of this story was a little disappointing to me. Though the overarching story was a wonderful love story it was a bit choppy and at times seemed to skip over things.

The Fortune’s of Texas have been a great series so far and I’m excited to see how they branch out with the Horseback Hollow Fortunes. I hope they will flush out more details and more of the larger story going forward.

Lullabies and cowboys? USA TODAY bestselling author Leanne Banks kicks off the new Fortunes of Texas continuity with a story of a single mom and the sexy rancher who sweeps her off her feet!

As she rings in the new year in Horseback Hollow, Texas, single mom Stacey Fortune Jones tries to count her blessings. She has an adorable baby girl, Piper; supportive parents; good friends. Best of them all is Colton Foster, her longtime neighbor from the ranch next door. He always seems to be around when she needs him. Trouble is, she may be starting to need him a bit too much.

She’s off-limits, Colton keeps telling himself. The tall, muscular rancher turns to mush every time he sees Stacey. But falling for his little sister’s best friend seems wrong on so many levels. She’s on the rebound. She’s got a baby. She’s…complicated. What’s a big-hearted cowboy to do?
