Her Playboy’s Secret by Tina Beckett is the eighth and final book in the Midwives On-Call series.

Senior midwife Lucas Elliot manages to make any woman go weak at the knees! Only English obstetrician Darcie Green seems immune to his charms… and for Lucas buttoned-up Darcie is the ultimate challenge. That’s until Lucas realises he’s falling for her – and, more worryingly, that Darcie’s close to discovering the secret behind the playboy!

Her Playboy’s Secret by Tina Beckett was a well written medical romance with an interesting yet simple plot line which is enjoyable with some good medical details.

Lucas is an amazing hero because he is sexy, smart and has an awesome presence. His personality shines through and its difficult to forget him once you are done with the story. Darcie was not a favorite of mine and it took me a lot of time to like and understand her personality. She was too “buttoned up” as the blurb says and I did not agree with the way she made really quick judgments without really knowing all the details.

The romance was passionate and emotional because the characters shared a great chemistry and also because the author did a great job in building situations which would bring the characters together throughout the story. A great end to the midwives series!

Overall an enjoyable romance which would be loved by the author’s fans.
