High-Risk-ReunionIn High Risk Reunion by Margaret Daly we meet Tory and Cade, and Tory’s teenage daughter Michelle. Tory’s career as a district attorney brings her into some quite dangerous cases including her current case against a gangster who has a lot of connections in their small town. When her daughter is threatened, Tory must find a way to get her to safety, to hiding.

Cade, who is a government officer, is brought in to help local authorities find and apprehend the criminals who are stalking and threatening Tory and Michelle. In the midst of all this, Cade and Tory have some past history that needs to be addressed. At the same time, they are trying to reassure Michelle, who acts out in fear and frustration over the danger caused by Tory’s job and the need to go into hiding.

While this has several ingredients for a strong and suspenseful read, there were areas where the story dragged and made it hard to keep reading. However, Daley is a strong writer and does manage to bring all the details together to a solution.

Tory’s history with Cade—and the secret they share—makes her reluctant to let him back into her life. But Tory doesn’t want to choose between bringing down a gang leader and protecting her teenage daughter.
