REVIEW: His for Revenge by Caitlin Crews

His for Revenge by Caitlin Crews is the second part in the Vows of Convenience series. Chase Whitaker was never Zara Elliot’s fate but to safeguard her family business, she takes what would have been her sister’s place as Chase’s bride.

Chase is only interested in one thing—his own dark game of revenge against Zara’s father. The one thing he hadn’t counted on? Zara’s charm and natural beauty unsettling his rock-hard defenses. They both realize they’re in over their heads and winning takes on a whole lot of different meaning for Chase!

Revenge and marriage of convenience are two of my favorite tropes and I think that is one of the reason I enjoyed His for Revenge so much. The revenge plot is superbly executed and the story is written in the author’s usual amazing manner. I liked this one much better than the first part, mainly because I loved the characters in this one.

Zara is an awesome heroine who has great taste in books and has some amazing one liners. She had a terrible family and when she finally stood up to them, I wanted to clap for her. Chase is a charismatic hero who does not like being manipulated and had a traumatic past which has greatly affected his future. The main characters were forced into a situation they both resented but had no choice. I loved the way they found solace in each other and discovered how life had treated them very similarly but in different ways. Their journey was worth reading and I enjoyed every moment of the same. The romance was engaging, passionate and had some really good dialogues.

Overall, His for Revenge by Caitlin Crews is a well written and enjoyable romance which combines two tropes to give a stunning output.
