Maya Blake’s latest release, His Pregnant Desert Queen is a rich tapestry of emotion, royalty and beautiful locations.
Prince Javid is facing much upheaval to his spare heir lifestyle. Not only is he crowned the new king of neighbouring Riyaal but he is also told he must marry beautiful (inside and out) Anais. Starting off as an unwanted marriage of convenience the future looks bleak but during the honeymoon sparks fly. Anais returns from their honeymoon on top of the world but while the nights are off the charts, she wakes up alone every morning and as each day passes it feels like Javid is slowly retreating away from her. Resigning to the fact what they shared during the honeymoon was a once off Anais focuses on becoming the Queen her people needs.
When Javid finds out he’s going to be a father his reaction is is heart-breaking, perhaps even soul destroying. Of course he realises this but it’s too late; news is received that Anais has been abducted.
Maya Blake writes a sheikh so well. Tall, dark, handsome, dangerous. A caged bull when unhappy and an absolute lion when what is his is harmed. Of course the fun journey is watching him evolve and love and recognise what his heart is feeling before it’s too late. Javid is fun because he’s the spare. He was never meant to be king. The connection between he and Anais is beautiful and I adored the French element to this story.
An incredible conclusion to the Brothers of the Desert duet which I would highly recommend to everyone!

When the kingdom of Riyaal is tragically left without a ruler, spare heir Prince Javid must step up to settle public unrest. The notorious playboy never dreamed of ruling, and he certainly never imagined needing a convenient marriage to lady-in-waiting Anaïs Dupont to take his crown!
Pulled from the shadows and thrust onto an undesired throne, Anaïs knows her vows to the sheikh are destined to be temporary. Only their honeymoon sparks much more than their arrangement promised…especially when surrendering to their sizzling chemistry has a shocking consequence!
