In Home to Wyoming by Rebecca Winters, Buck Summerhayes wants to put the past behind him, especially everything that happened in Afghanistan during the war but he cannot go back to the family construction business, so he goes into a partnership with two of his friends Carson and Ross from the military hospital to open a dude ranch in Teton Valley, and honor a fallen soldier by inviting his widow and children to stay for a weeklong stay with all expenses paid.
This is the second family to be invited to the ranch and it’s Buck’s turn to take care of them. But Buck is stuck in the airport waiting to fly back from a brief visit to his family. As he is waiting he admires the sexy woman with her sleeping daughter sitting next to him. Too bad that his cough starts acting up and wakes up the little girl. To his chagrin the mother asks the little girl to go to the restroom before their flight is called, and he believes that it’s only to get away from him.
Alexis Wilson is having a hard time raising her granddaughter by herself. Not only did little Jenny lose her father in the war, she soon after lost her mother to illness. Now Jenny is very attached to Alexis and does not want her to marry her two-year long boyfriend. Hopefully being close to people that worked the same as her father will bring the joy back into Jenny’s eyes and life.
Buck cannot believe that the mother and daughter he was admiring on the plane are to be his charges. The little girl is a cutie, and the mom is very sexy. When Buck finds out that Alexis is actually Jenny’s grandmother, he cannot believe it, for she looks to young to be a grandmother.
Alex was seventeen when she had her daughter, and so did her daughter when she had Jenny, so it stands to reason that she would be a young looking and young in general grandmother. She dedicated her entire life to raising her daughter, and never again thought to feel deep attraction and chemistry, so she was settling for a stable relationship. Only now with Buck she is feeling things that are making see things from a different perspective, even if she has a problem with being a little older than him, that is until she finds out he is only five years younger. But she believes that being a grandmother will put off many men.
Neither Alex nor Buck will act on their feelings because they believe their feelings may not be reciprocated. But unless they are willing to take a chance and risk they will not find out what can truly develop between them.
Wow, I could not put down Home to Wyoming. This is the second book in the Daddy Dude Ranch series and can honestly say that I love them all so far. The story is heartwarming, sweet and inspiring. And the ending and epilogue were amazing! I cannot wait for the last book in this series.
If you want a sweet, heartwarming and fun read with two awesome little kids, Johnny and Jenny, and a sweet romance that will make you smile, don’t miss Home to Wyoming by Rebecca Winters.
