REVIEW: Hot Cowboy Nights by Carolyn Brown

Hot Cowboy Nights (Lucky Penny Ranch #2) by Carolyn Brown: I really don’t know how Carolyn Brown does it! I love this woman, her characters, her writing, the situations that these amazing characters find themselves in, the humor, the laughter, the family feeling and the down home goodness that makes you want to pack your bags and move right in. I have never been disappointed in any of the amazing books that I have read, she is one of my go to authors when I need a pick me up. This is the second book in the Lucky Penny Ranch series, but as with all of Carolyn Brown books, you can read it as a stand alone book with no problems. This is the story of Toby and Lizzy.

Lizzy Logan was once engaged to the town pecher, until he decided to run off, leaving her in the dust with nothing more than a note telling her that is was in love with someone else. At her sisters wedding, she and the newest bad boy on the Lucky Penny Ranch, and her sisters new brother in law, get into a hot and heavy 3 week roll in the sheets. Both realizing that this secret relationship cannot continue, they both decide to remain friends, but no more benefits. When the town decides to have a festival to bring back family and friends to their little home town, Lizzy is faced with the idea that she will have to face her ex again.

Toby Dawson thought that he was doing Lizzy a favor when he asked her to dance after being dumped by her fiance, but the hot roll in the sheets with his sexy neighbor was something that they both could enjoy for awhile. After calling it quits, Toby is being hunted by the single women in town. What is a hot cowboy to do? He and Lizzy realize that it would benefit them both to “pretend” to be a couple until after the festival. It would keep the women at bay and prove to the town and Lizzy’s ex that she is well and truly over him.

But as Toby and Lizzy embark on the “fake” relationship, the nosey bitties in town, and even their friends and family begin to realize that what they have is more than pretend. Toby and Lizzy need to figure out how to turn then “pretend” relationship into something real, because their feelings for each other are anything but, and they know that there is nothing better than enjoying some Hot Cowboy Nights in each others arms.

What I loved about this story is that from the first page Toby and Lizzy had sparks and a chemistry so hot that it practically burned up the pages of this amazing story. How they were able to keep their relationship a secret when they were sneaking around was a wonder, because after only one “date” everyone in town knew they were together. Lizzy is such a sweet and caring person with a heart of gold, but under that sweetness lies a wildcat when she is with Toby. Of course Toby was everything that a HOT, SEXY cowboy should be, he was sweet, it was rough, he loved a good time, but he knew how to treat a lady and he knew that his feelings for Lizzy where anything but pretend.

I loved this book from page one and was loving it even more at the end. I cannot wait for the next Lucky Penny Ranch book, and I highly recommend Carolyn Brown as a GO-TO author for all things SEXY COWBOY.
