Island Fling to Forever by Sophie Pembroke: Sometimes we run for the sake of running, sometimes we run scared and sometimes we run because we just don’t know any better.
Rosa Gray was an odd combination of running scared and running because it was the only thing she knew how to do. Her household had been unusual growing up but what she did know was that love didn’t last and no one could tell her any different. So what if she is hit over the head with an amazing man that might change her life forever. All it takes is too much happiness for something awful to happen and then it’s up to her to just keep running.
Jude Alexander wasn’t sure what happened to the girl he fell in love with, all he knew was that he offered her his heart and then she ran. So what was he going to do? Was he running away now? So many bad things in such a short time…. All he knew was that he couldn’t live the life he was, not right now, right now it was time for a break, a run.
When Jude and Rosa end up on the same small island together it must be fate, right? Or is it just time to retie the running shoes?
Wow, Ms. Pembroke has given her readers a great follow up in this part two. It can be read as a stand-alone but works really well and honestly better if you have read the first book in this series. She furthers the characters that were built in book one and breathes such life into them that you won’t picture them on the page but acting in front of you. The plot has ups and downs to make you really feel like it could be real. In fact with some of the twists you might just want to throw something. This is one of those novels that at the end you will be smiling and not even realizing it. All around this is a win.
