Kyland by Mia Sheridan: Tenleigh is determined to make something of her life and for now that means getting her hands on a scholarship, the only problem being Kyland. You see Tenleigh is not the only one hungry to get that scholarship, coming from a poor mining town both Tenleigh and Kyland are determined to make something of themselves and build a new better life outside of Dennville, so regardless of the insane chemistry that sparks between them they are both laser focused on achieving their goal of leaving town, but all it takes is one moment to change it all… soon two strangers turn to allies and then to so much more, but what happens when only one of them can win? Who is going to be left broken hearted?

Kyland was one emotionally charged read! This book had me tearing up more than a few times but gosh did I love it all the more. If you are looking for a cute fluffy read then this is not for you, Sheridan does not pull any punches in this book, this really was one emotional gut punching read. This was the type of book that you just knew something was going to happen but you just can’t help but want to read more and more.

Both main characters were great but it really was Kyland that stole my heart. This guy was incredible, so self sacrificing and kind, there was something beautifully broken about this guy that I could not stop loving. I really want to get more into the story but I don’t want to give anything away, this truly was the type of book that you need to read and experience the emotions along side the characters to fully enjoy it. All I will say is that from about fifty perfect in you are going to be unable to put the book down! As for our leading lady, Tenleigh was great I loved that she did not let her less than grand circumstances hold her back from wanting to better not only herself but all those that she cared about. She really showed great strength and resilience.

I loved the forbidden element to Kyland and Tenleighs story, these two had this almost self imposed forbidden love that just worked wonders. The tension and angst was insanely high in this book. I loved the fact that you could actually feel their burning desire for each other while reading, their connection was just electric.

Mia Sheridan has crafted one of her most emotionally impactful novel with Kyland, this book will break your heart but keep you wanting more. Definitely a must read.
