Love on Lavender Island by Lauren Christopher: grabbed my attention from the very start with its intriguing characters and vivid details and kept my interest going with the building romance between Paige Grant and Adam Mason.
Paige is returning to Lavender Island to fix up her grandma’s cottage for a screen legend’s wedding. In order to pull off the wedding, she needs to be able to use part of Adam’s property, but Adam is selling the property due to financial debts his deceased father left.
Many years ago, Paige had a pretty big crush on Adam. Adam never noticed her, now don’t be mad at him for that, there was an age difference between them. Besides, their parents were in a relationship together and that turned out horribly. But now Paige is back on the island and Adam is seeing her in a different light. In return, Paige is realizing that Adam isn’t the same boy she used to crush on, he’s so much more now. He’s turned out to be a great man and the attraction she felt toward him is only getting stronger.
“The chemistry she’d always felt with him was mixing dangerously with the memories, the fantasies she’d had, the anger and frustration that he’d ignored her, the lack of forgiveness she’d carried for the last several years, and now her guilt. Everything was swirling together in a complicated storm of lust, adoration, resentment, attraction, dismissal, and obsession.”
Their relationship develops at a nice pace and will have readers begging for more. The scenes are passionate and filled with so much promise of a growing relationship. But there are many obstacles in Paige and Adam’s way, as well as, a secret Paige is keeping to herself.
I fell in love with Adam’s character from the beginning. He was open and very protective of Paige. He fell for her very quickly, even knowing that Paige was only there temporarily. Paige was such an entertaining character. She truly believes she is cursed. Certain instances occur with her around and to her, she’s cursed, but Adam finds that entertaining and endearing. Life with Paige could never be boring. She’s also very sweet to care about Adam’s daughter. Right from the beginning, she feels for the girl and tries to bring Adam and Amanda closer. To me, Paige is a one of a kind heroine who I would love to hang with.
Love on Lavender is book two in Lavender Island series but can certainly be read as a standalone. Readers who enjoy small island romances filled with heart, will definitely need to make this their next read.

What’s worse than Paige Grant getting stuck in a window while breaking into her late grandmother’s Lavender Island ranch? Being discovered—and saved—by next-door neighbor Adam Mason. The Grants and Masons haven’t exactly been friendly in recent decades, despite Paige’s teenage crush on handsome, standoffish Adam. But the down-on-her-luck actress now needs more than saving: she wants to use part of Adam’s property to pull off a dramatic wedding for her idol, screen legend Dorothy Silver, in exchange for a movie role that could make her dreams come true.

As they continue to spend time together, sparks fly. But Paige is troubled by a secret that could ruin any hopes they have for a future together.
