In Love Overboard by Kandi Steiner, Ember Reed is finally thriving as chief stew aboard a luxury Mediterranean superyacht and starring on the hit
reality series Close Quarters. But just as she starts settling into the job of her dreams, the producers bring in Finn Pearson—the boy who once kissed her like forever was guaranteed before disappearing without explanation. Now, with cameras capturing every interaction, Ember and Finn are forced to work side by side while years of unresolved feelings threaten to resurface.
LOVE OVERBOARD was such a deliciously tense second-chance romance. Between the forced proximity aboard the yacht, the reality TV pressure, and two characters who clearly never stopped loving each other, this story delivered emotional angst, sizzling chemistry, and all the messy vulnerability that makes second-chance romances impossible for me to resist.
Ember Reed and Finn Pearson pulled me into their story immediately. I loved how emotionally messy their story was. Every argument, lingering glance, and stolen moment carried years of unresolved feelings beneath the surface. Between the luxury superyacht setting, the reality TV cameras constantly watching them, and the history simmering beneath, the tension between these two never let up for a second.
Finn was charismatic, emotionally complicated, and carrying regrets he never fully learned how to express. The chemistry between him and Ember was intense from the start, but it was the vulnerability underneath all their frustration that made this romance so addictive for me. Watching Ember and Finn slowly peel back years of hurt while still being undeniably drawn to each other created the kind of emotional tension I could not get enough of. By the end, they felt less like two people reliving old mistakes and more like two people finally learning how to choose each other the right way.
