Love Redesigned by Lauren Asher: The last thing that Julian Lopez wants is to be stuck working with his nemesis Dahlia Muñoz but the fastest way to get her out of his hair and his very comfortable life is to work with her, it also doesn’t help that his own mother is practically guilting him into helping Dahlia. Being back home was supposed to be Dahlia’s chance to recover from her broken engagement and to try and find her creative spark again, the very last thing that she needs is to be shackled to her childhood frenemy Julian, but when the annoying billionaire makes her an offer to renovate a historic house and triple the profits its impossible for her to pass up. And so their temporary truce is formed, the only problem with working closely together is now there is nowhere to hide from their undeniable attraction… so what happens when Julians plan to help get rid of Dahlia soon begins in him trying to convince her to stay in town… for him?
“Turns out I’d rather build a home with you than a thousand houses by myself.”
I absolutely loved the Dreamland Billionaires series so when I heard that Asher had created the Lakefront Billionaires series I was eager to get my hands on a copy of the first book and let me just tell you Love Redesigned did not disappoint. This book had everything that I love about reading a Lauren Asher book and more, there was romance, snarky banter, a bit of angst and loads of laugh out loud moments. There was nothing not to like about this book, with an adorable historic lakeside setting, meddling mothers, cute supporting characters and two strong lead characters that had chemistry for days, it was easy to get lost in this enemies to lovers romance.
Julian and Dahlia were both incredible characters and I really enjoyed getting to follow them as they tried to figure out their attraction to each other while also battling their own internal demons. Dahlia was such an amazing leading lady, not only was she incredibly loveable and had packed a snarky punch but I loved the fact that she was strong enough to face her own internal demons. She had to face a lot of self healing in order to get past the mental health trauma that her ex left her with but also it took a lot for her to embrace the fact that she is worth so much more and really believe this. It was easy to understand her reluctance to allow Julian into her heart but as he grew so did she and this made their journey into love all that more believable. Now for our swoony hero, Julian, well simply put I loved him to bits. There was just something about Julian that I could not help but like. I liked the fact that he was aware of his shortfalls and that he knew that he had to work to overcome his grief in order to move on in life. I found his character growth really rewarding and this helped in his communication with Dahlia. I loved the fact that he was always there for her and he knew that she needed verbal reassurance, Julian really was the praise king.
“Every kiss feels like a promise. Every touch an oath. A vow that Julian will love me, cherish me, and protect me—no matter if I choose to believe it or not.”
The chemistry between Julian and Dahlia was incredible, there was no doubt that these two were meant to be together. More than their sparky connection I loved the deeper more emotional bond that they formed, in a way they helped each other heal and become the best versions of themselves. I absolutely melted at the fact that Julian had a pros and cons list about how he felt about Dahlia and that there was only one con on the list. With their open communication and grand gestures it was hard not to fall in love with these two as they fell in love with each other.
Love Redesigned is a TOTAL MUST READ!! This book is cute, sweet, heart melty and will have you wanting the next book in this series asap!
