REVIEW: Love to Hate You by Anna Premoli

Love to Hate You by Anna Premoli explores the enemies to lover’s trope. Jennifer Love-to-Hate-Youand Ian are colleagues, who just can’t stand each other. They are always bickering, taunting each other, and there was even a mention of a broken nose, once. Both characters are strong and determined, but also vastly different from each other.

Ian can have any woman he wants. He has the looks, the smarts, and the title. Jenny is different from the women he’s seen with and he’s intrigued by it. His normal women are only after his money and title and are women he can’t have an intelligent conversation with. But…Jenny isn’t like that. She doesn’t want his money and her intelligence is a turn on and Ian isn’t like the men Jenny dates. He’s not a pushover.

Jenny is very independent. She’s not afraid to go against the grain and will speak her mind freely. One thing she frequently mentions is how much hate she has for Ian. All it takes is a little one on one time, a pretend relationship, and before they know it, Ian and Jenny are head over heels for each other.

“The love I feel for Ian is so deeply rooted inside me that I can hardly function, and at times I even feel as though I’m literally unable to think.”

But life doesn’t run smoothly for the two. Both characters are very different and come from different backgrounds. Will Ian and Jennifer be able to put aside their differences to forge a future together?

Overall, Love to Hate You was an enjoyable read. I loved the dialogue between the characters and really enjoyed how both characters started off hating each other or at least appearing that way. I liked the writing and the pace of the story, as well. I would certainly read from this author again.

Jennifer and Ian have known each other for seven years, and they’ve always been at war. They are leaders of two different teams in the same merchant bank, and are engaged in a running battle to be number one.

Until one day, they are forced to work on the same project, managing the money of a rich aristocrat. They have to spend a lot of time together, even outside office hours. Ian is the most wealthy and sought-after bachelor in London, and an innocent evening spent at the same table is enough to land him and Jennifer on the gossip pages of a tabloid.

Much to his surprise, Ian starts to realise that being with Jenny could have its benefits: the photos have discouraged all the vacuous girls that usually flock to him. Pleased to be rid of them, Ian makes Jenny an offer she can’t refuse: to have free reign of their rich client if she pretends to be his girlfriend. But soon, it becomes more and more difficult to tell the difference between fiction and reality…

I’m so happy to see a review of this little book. I had found it recently, but with so little reviews I didn’t want to take a chance.
